Installing MagicTouch
To establish and test the electrical connection, the following tools are required:
Diode test lamp (8) or voltmeter (9)
Crimping tool (10)
Insulating tape (11)
Hot air blower (13)
Soldering iron (optional) (14)
Solder (optional) (15)
Heat shrinking sleeve
Cable bushing sleeves (optional)
To fasten the receiver and the cables you may require additional screws and cable
binders.
6.2 Installing the radio receiver

Select a suitable installation location (fig. 7, page 5).

On selecting the installation location, observe the following instructions:

Install the radio receiver
– In the vehicle interior
– Somewhere easily accessible to allow the programming of hand transmitters
– Not in areas where strong electrical fields can interfere with it, e. g. ignition
cables or central control electronics
– Not in the immediate vicinity of other control units to prevent the devices
from interfering with each other (which could cause malfunctions and reduce
the range of the radio remote control)
– Not directly next to ventilator nozzles

Make sure the radio receiver and cable set are well away from moving vehicle
components such as the steering column, clutch, brake and accelerator pedals,
in order to prevent the cable or the radio receiver from being crushed or worn.

If you install the radio receiver behind panels, make sure you can fit the panels
again afterwards.
➤ Where possible, use existing holes in the vehicle.
➤
Screw the control unit firmly to the vehicle with the screws supplied or use dou-
ble-sided adhesive tape.
Take care not to damage any other parts of the vehicle when tightening the
screws.
