The DCF signal is transmitted via a DCF transmitter in
Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am Main). Its range covers
up to 1500 km and, and under ideal reception condi-
tions, even up to 2000 km.
Among other things, the DCF signal includes the pre-
cise time (theoretically, a deviation of one second in a
million years!) and the date.
Naturally, this also eliminates the hassle of manually
setting up summer and winter times.
Manual DCF reception attempt
• To perform a manual search for the DCF signal (e.g. if you have placed the radio wall
clock in a different location), press the FUNKSIGNAL button for two seconds.
• This will start a manual reception attempt. Then, as described above, wait until the
current time is displayed.
• Press the FUNKSIGNAL button again to cancel the manual DCF reception attempt.
Manual settings
Manual setting of the time and date is only necessary when the clock is
used outside of the DCF reception range, if you want to display a different
time zone other than Germany, or if the DCF reception is disrupted due to
environmental conditions.
If the settings were changed and after that DCF reception is again desired, a
manual DCF reception attempt (see above) must be made.
• Press the EINSTELLEN button for three seconds.
• Set the values to be set using the arrow buttons S and F.
• Press the EINSTELLEN button to save the set value and proceed to the next value
that needs to be set.
• The values are adjusted in the following order:
12/24h display > time zone (±12 hours) > hours > minutes > year > month > day >
display language for weekday
The display language for the weekday can be set to the following languages:
GER = German
ENG = English
ITA = Italian
FRE = French
DUT = Dutch
SPA = Spanish
DAN = Danish
Temperature display
• The room temperature is shown at the bottom right of the display.
• To toggle the temperature unit between °C and °F, press the arrow button F.

Troubleshooting

In purchasing the wet room radio clock, you have acquired a product which has been
designed according to state of the art technology and which is operationally reliable.
Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur.
Therefore, we would like to describe here how to eliminate possible faults.
The clock does not synchronise or has only temporary reception:
• The distance to the DCF transmitter is too great or restricted by geographical condi-
tions.
• Relocate the product; switch off interfering devices such as TV sets, computers or
microwave ovens.
• Avoid a location in the vicinity of large metal surfaces, which may shield the radio
signals. Windows with a vapour deposited metal layer can also influence the signal
reception.
• Place the clock near a window for synchronisation, and align the front or back side
in the direction of Frankfurt (Germany).
• Leave the clock switched on overnight to reduce atmospheric interference.
The display shows confused symbols or nothing is displayed at all:
• Press the NEUSTART button with a sharp object (e.g. a straightened paper clip). The
built-in microprocessor is reset and the clock goes back into DCF reception mode.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for
any reason.
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
1500 km
Do not use aggressive detergents as these can cause discolouration of the case.
Do not press on the sensitive display surface.
2000 km
