MegaPixel IP LAN Camera

Intended Use
The product is intended for surveillance by employing the integrated camera. It can be operated
directly via a 10/100MBit network (RJ45 connector on the rear of the surveillance camera).
The camera and the power supply unit provided are only intended for operation in dry in
door locations.
The power is supplied from the wall plug transformer included in the delivery.
The camera's integrated infrared LEDs allow night vision. Please note that coloured image
reproduction changes into black and white monochrome when increasing darkness activates the
IR-LEDs. The brightness is detected by the camera using a photo sensor on the front.
Please bear in mind that it is prohibited by law to observe strangers with a camera without their
knowledge and consent.
Do not operating the product in any other way than that described above. This could lead to dam-
age to the product, which may give rise to hazards such as short circuit, fire and electric shock.
The product must not be modified or converted. Always observe the safety instructions included
in these operating instructions. Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later
reference.
Explanation of the Symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of electric
shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during handling, opera-
tion and control.
The „Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any consequential
damage!
We do not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warran-
ty will be void in such cases.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible
because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with protection class II. Only connect
the wall plug transformer to a normal mains socket (230 V~/ 50 Hz) connected to the
public supply.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Therefore,
be especially careful when children are around.
• Please contact a qualified person, if you are unsure about the safety and correct
use of the system components.
• Electronic devices are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• The camera and the wall plug transformer should not be exposed to extreme temper-
atures, direct sunlight, intense vibration or heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous play-
things for children.
• After rapid changes in temperature, the camera and the wall plug transformer require
some time to stabilise, in order to adjust to the sur rounding temperature, before they
can be used again.
Wait until the product has reached room temperature, before use.
• The product and the wall plug transformer should only be used in dry indoor areas,
they must not be exposed to damp or wet. There is a risk of a lethal electric shock!
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect
the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a qualified special-
ist or a specialised repair shop.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact
our technical service or another specialist.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.

Connection and Start-up
• Connect the low-voltage adaptor provided to the enclosed wall plug transformer „DC IN 5V"
(12).
• Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket (230V~/50Hz).
• Connect the camera's RJ45 connector (9) with a 1:1 connected network cable and your net-
work, e.g. a network switch or a router. The provided network cable is a so-called crosslink
cable (crossover data cable) and can be used to connect directly to the RJ45 network port of
the computer.
• Insert the CD-ROM enclosed into a suitable
drive on your computer.
• If the CD-ROM is not automatically launched
by auto boot and the start screen appear (see
Figure A), then double-click on your CD-ROM
drive (you will find it in My Computer in
Windows XP). The start screen will appear
(see Figure A).
• Click on „Install Audio and Video Codec" to install the required audio and video codec. Follow
all the on-screen instructions.
• After successful installation of the audio and video codecs, click on „Install Mega Pixel IP
Camera Viewer" to install the surveillance software. Follow all the on-screen instructions.
• After successfully installing the surveillance software, click on „Install IPCam Setup". This
installs software to automatically find the camera's IP address. Follow all the on-screen
instructions.
• Two shortcuts („Mega Pixel IP Camera Viewer" and „IPCam Setup") should have been creat-
ed on your desktop.
Please note, the names and designations of the installation steps described here could
change with newer software versions. The CD contains, among other things, detailed
instructions for the camera and software in English.
If this button is pressed, then

The area marked „F" in the product view indicates the photo sensor. The photo sen-
sor detects the current light intensity.
Test the camera before mounting it in the desired location.
To make all the settings, the camera should always be connected first to the
computer via RJ45.
The camera's default factory settings are IP 192.168.1.100 and the network
mask is 255.255.255.0, the user name is („User name"), the access password is
„admin".
Use a computer that is set to IP address 192.168.1.50 (network mask
255.255.255.0) to set up and test the camera.
Your internet browser must be suitable for ActiveX. If in doubt, use the current
Internet Explorer and Windows XP or Vista. If ActiveX is not available or inacti-
vated, the camera image cannot be shown. For example, in Internet Explorer,
the download of unsigned ActiveX content and the export of unsecure ActiveX
contents must be activated.
Ensure that the camera's IP address (factory default 192.168.1.100) is not allo-
cated to other devices on the network.
