Solar chain of party LED lights

Intended use
The product is intended as a decorative light source for outdoor use.
The inserted rechargeable battery is charged via the solar cell with sufficient daylight.
The light turns on automatically in the dark and the rechargeable battery takes over
power supply to the lights. Several multicoloured lights outfitted with one LED each
serve as the light source.
Use of the product other than for its intended use described here is prohibited. Follow
the safety and assembly instructions included in this user manual!

This symbol informs you about specific risks when handling, operating or
using the product.
The "arrow" symbol indicates special remarks and notes for operation.
Safety instructions
In case of damage caused by non-observance of these operating instruc-
tions, the warranty gets void! We are not liable for any consequential da-
mage!
We are not liable for property damage or injuries caused by improper use
or non-observance of safety instructions! Such circumstances will void the
warranty!
• Due to safety and approval concerns (CE) the product must not be modi-
fied and/or altered without authorization.
• The product is not a toy; keep it out of the reach of children!
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or
strong mechanical stress.
• Shield the cable against sharp corners; do not drive over it with your ve-
hicle, do not step on it.
• Do not use the product in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions,
where combustible gas, smoke or dust are or could be present! There is a
risk of explosion!
• The product may be operated only when it is fixed in place. Do not set up
and/or operate the product in a vehicle.
• The product is intended for outdoor use only. Nevertheless, it may never
be operated in or under water. Operation in or under water will destroy the
product.
• Attention, LED light: Do not look directly into the LED light! Do not look into
the beam directly or with optical instruments!
• Cease operation of the product immediately if it is visibly damaged and
have it checked/repaired by a professional or dispose of it in an environ-
mentally friendly manner.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended, as children could use it as a
toy creating hazardous situations.
• If you have any further questions that have not been considered in these
operating instructions, please contact us or any other expert.
Notes on rechargeable batteries
• Keep rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave rechargeable
batteries lying about. Children or pets may swallow batteries left lying about, posing
a risk of fatal injury! If a battery has been swallowed, seek medical advice immedi-
ately.
• Never disassemble, short-circuit or throw rechargeable batteries into fire, this po-
ses a risk of explosion.
• Heed correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting/replacing rechargeable
batteries.
• Expired or used rechargeable batteries can leak chemical liquids that cause dama-
ge to the device. Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries may cause chemical
burns if they come into contact with your skin, wear suitable protective hand wear
when handling such rechargeable batteries.
• Use only one rechargeable battery of the right size and recommended type.
• Insert only a rechargeable battery into the solar light. Never use a non-rechargeab-
le battery. Otherwise there is a risk of fire and explosion!
Operation
a) Preparations
• There may be a plastic strip in the rechargeable battery compartment between the
rechargeable battery and the electrical contacts. The plastic strip is designed to
prevent deep discharge during transport.
Open the rechargeable battery compartment to check. To do so, unscrew both
screws from the rechargeable battery compartment lid on the back of the solar mo-
dule and lift off the lid.
If a plastic strip is present between the rechargeable battery and one of the con-
tacts, remove it.
Check whether the rechargeable battery is inserted correctly (heed plus/+ and mi-
nus/- markings on both the rechargeable battery and battery compartment).
Replace the rechargeable battery compartment lid and use the provided screws to
screw it into place.
• If there is a transport protection film on top of the solar cell, remove it.
b) Turning on/off
You can choose between two settings using the switch on the back of the solar mo-
dule.
• „ON":
The solar chain of party lights is turned on.
The LEDs activate automatically when the ambient light drops beneath the preset
switching threshold (ca. 15 lux).
When the ambient light becomes brighter (above ca. 200 lux), the LEDs go out.
There is no built-in brightness sensor, the product registers the ambient light
level via internal metering of the charging current to the solar cell.
• „OFF":
The solar chain of party lights is turned off, the LEDs will not activate.
The product's rechargeable battery always charges when sufficient light
shines on the solar module's solar cell, regardless of the switch position
(„ON" or „OFF").
c) Setting up/assembly
• Plug in the solar panel holder on the back of the solar module; insert the ground
spike in the solar panel holder.
• Set up the solar module at a suitable spot in your garden or yard.
Push the ground spike by hand into a suitably soft section of soil. Do not use
force, do not use tools! Failure to do so will damage the product.
Sunlight should fall as vertically as possible on the solar module's solar cell for the
rechargeable battery to charge optimally. For this reason, do not set up the solar
module in the shade or under any sort of cover, i.e. under bushes or trees.
Do not place the solar module directly next to other sources of light such
as courtyard lights, street lights, etc. Otherwise the product's LEDs will not
activate.
• You can hang the product's 10 LEDs and/or cable on suitable hooks, for instance.
Shield the cable against sharp corners. Do not pull on the cables.
