Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries
9
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries away from children.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to plus
10
and minus!).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If
swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged (rechargeable) batteries can cause burns, if they come into contact with the skin. For
this reason you should use suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Danger of explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries that
are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries; do not mix batteries or rechargeable batteries with different
charges (e.g. full and half-full batteries). Always use four (rechargeable) batteries of the same type/manu-
facturer to power the bird watching camera.
• For the safe and lasting use of the bird watching camera, we recommend that only high-quality alkaline bat-
teries be used.
When using rechargeable batteries, expect a shorter running time due to the lower operating
voltage (Battery = 1.5 V/cell, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V/cell).
Rechargeable batteries are more temperature sensitive than normal batteries. At low tempe-
ratures, rechargeable batteries have a very short operating time.
Inserting/replacing the batteries
Loosen the locking lever (2), pull it out towards the „PULL" marking, so that the front of the device can be ope-
ned.
Insert four type mignon/AA batteries with the correct polarity. You will find an appropriate diagram in the bat-
tery compartment.
When using for the first time, place the SD card with the correct orientation into the SD slot, see chapter
„Inserting/Removing the SD card".
Close the bird watching camera again.
The batteries need charging when the LED „bat. low" is lit.
Inserting/removing the SD memory card
Loosen the locking lever (2), pull it out towards the „PULL" marking, so that the front of the device can be ope-
ned.
Carefully insert the SD card with the correct orientation into the SD slot, until it clicks into place. A correspon-
ding Figure can be found below the SD slot.
To remove the SD card, slightly push the slot, in order to release the SD card. The latching mechanism in the
SD card slot pushes the SD card a out bit, so that the SD card can be easily removed.
Only use a standard SD card with max. 2G Byte (do not use a SDHC memory card).
When inserting the SD card, make sure that the SD card's write protection is disabled.
Close the bird watching camera again.
