a) In general
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible because of
safety and approval reasons (CE).
• No part of the product must get damp or wet. There is a risk of a lethal electric shock!
• Avoid bringing into contact with direct sunlight, high temperatures (>35°C) or extreme cold
(<0°C). Keep it away from dust and dirt.
• Keep the charging adapter and rechargeable batteries away from ignition sources or naked
flames, do not smoke during handling and use of the charging adapter and rechargeable
batteries! There is a risk of explosion!
• The product is not a toy. It is not suitable for children. Pay particular attention, if children are
present! Children may try to poke objects into the device. This will destroy the device.
Furthermore, there is a risk of explosion and fire if the integrated lead battery is short-circuited
and danger to life due to electric shock!
The product may only be set up, used or stored in places that are not accessible to children.
• Maintenance, adjustment, or repair work should only be carried out by a specialist/
specialist workshop. There are no components for you to adjust or maintain within the device.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability
Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
• In schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops the operation of the product is
to be supervised by trained employees.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
If you see any damage, do not use the battery charger anymore but take it to a specialised
workshop or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
b) Charger, charging process
• The supplied battery charger is only intended to be used with a mains voltage of 230V~/50Hz.
• The design of the battery charger conforms to protection class II.
• When re-charging the quick start system, never use any other battery charge than the one sup-
plied.
An appropriate charger is included in the delivery for re-charging with the cigarette lighter
socket.
Explosive gases can be generated during the charging lead batteries. Thus, only re-charge the
battery in rooms with good ventilation. Never charge lead batteries in boxes or containers or in
insufficiently ventilated rooms.
c) Operation
• Jump starts are only allowed for vehicles with a 12V on-board voltage. In vehicles with a
different voltage (6V or 24V), not only is there a risk of explosion of the battery of the quick start
system or the vehicle, but all electronic components of the on-board circuit might also be
damaged.
• Before a jump start, read the operating instructions of the vehicle about how a jump start is
done. If a jump start is done incorrectly, there is a risk of damaging the electronic components
of the on-board circuit!
• The product is intended for jump starting a vehicle with an appropriate battery. The quick start
system is not suitable as replacement of a vehicle battery.
• Never try to jump start a vehicle with frozen battery. There is a risk of explosion!
• Select a stable, even and sufficiently large place for operation of the product so that it can not
topple over or fall down. Operate and store the product only in an upright standing position.
• Do not operate the product in the enclosed interior room of vehicles; ensure adequate
ventilation!
5
The product must not be used in the vicinity of flammable materials or gases. Risk of explosion!
6
• Do not operate the product when it is unattended. Failures cannot be eliminated despite com-
prehensive and versatile protective circuits.
• Only use the device in a moderate climate, do not use it in a tropical climate.
7
• Make sure that there is sufficient ventilation during and after operation; do not cover the pro-
duct during operation.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one.
Thereby, condensation water forms, which may not only lead to malfunctions but also gives
rise to a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Wait until the product has reached room temperature, before you use it. This may take several
hours!
• The compressor built into the quick start system is not suitable of continuous operation, only
for operation for a short time. Leave the compressor to cool down for at least 10 minutes after
a longer phase of operation before using it again.
• When using the compressor, observe the correct inflation pressure (e.g. of a tyre); there is a
risk of explosion in case of overpressure!
