Do not apply force when you set up the device, e.g. hammer blows. This will
damage the product. Try to position the solar-powered mole repeller where
nobody will trip over it. Take care to ensure that no leads are damaged.
Therefore, before installing do make sure that there are no utility conduits
(water, electricity, etc.) running through the spot chosen.
The product is adequately protected against damp and rain. However, it must
not be exposed to direct and powerful water sprays. The product must not be
installed directly in water, e.g. in a garden pond. Therefore, also make sure that
there is no risk of puddles forming in the installation location.
If you have placed the device in a location where you work with a lawn mower,
lawn trimmer etc, take care not to damage the solar-powered mole repeller
with these tools.
Do not hit the product with a hard object to drive it into the ground.
It is recommended you use the device for the first time in the morning hours, so there is suffi-
cient for exposure to the sun, so the solar cell can charge the batteries as much as possible.
Chose an appropriate spot for the device, e.g. the lawn or a flower bed. Push the solar-powered
mole repeller, with the tip of the ground spike first, into the ground. The ground spike should go
into the ground up to the lower edge of the green housing. In hard soils it might be necessary to
make a suitable hole first, e.g. by driving a wooden stake into the ground.
It may take a couple of days before an effect is seen on the unwanted rodents and
it drives them away.
Using the Mole Repeller
The nightly operating time for the product varies according to the season, depending on the
hours of sunlight and the strength of the sun. During long periods without adequate solar radia-
tion (especially in winter) it is possible that the state of charging of the batteries will be too low to
allow the device to operate for a long time.
During the day, the rechargeable batteries will be charged with less energy than the energy with-
drawn during the night. This inevitably reduces the operating time.
Keep the solar cell cover clean. Take particular care that the solar cell does not
become dirty and that it is kept clear e.g. of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise,
the built-in solar cell will not catch enough sunlight to charge the batteries.
Cold temperatures have a negative influence on the service life of the batteries
(reduced operating time). For a long, trouble-free use, we recommend storing
the device in a dry, warm room and removing the batteries during the winter, or
when it is not to be used for a longer time.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Except for occasional cleaning the product requires no maintenance. It cannot be opened. By
opening it you may damage the product. Any maintenance or repair work must only be carried
out by authorised personnel/workshop. The surface of the device should only be cleaned with a
slightly damp cloth or a dry brush. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions
since these might damage the surface of the casing or impair the function.
Disposal
a) General Information
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batter-
ies/rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy
metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries as well as coin cells can be returned to
collection points in your municipality, our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable
batteries/coin cells are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
