Solar panel with LED spotlight

Intended use
The product is intended for use as a portable light source. The LED spotlight's internal rechargeable battery
can be charged via the solar panel, via a power outlet in combination with the USB power adapter or via a
vehicle's on-board voltage socket in combination with the USB car adapter. The product can also be used to
charge an external device via the LED spotlight's internal rechargeable battery.
The LED spotlight and the solar panel are suitable for outdoor use (IP44).
The USB car adapter, the USB power adapter and the USB DC cable are suitable for use in dry indoor
areas only.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and
keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.
If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this
manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property.
Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) Persons / Product
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous
playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight (excluding the solar panel),
strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected
to the product.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. Allow the device to reach room
temperature before connecting and using it. This may take several hours.
b) Rechargeable batteries
• The rechargeable battery is permanently built into the product and cannot be replaced.
• Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the rechargeable battery
might cause an explosion or a fire!
• Never short-circuit the contacts of the rechargeable battery. Do not throw the rechargeable
battery or the product into fire. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
• Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even if you are not using the product. Due to the
rechargeable battery technology being used, you do not need to discharge the rechargeable
battery first.
• Never charge the rechargeable battery of the product unattended.
• When charging, place the product on a surface that is not heat-sensitive. It is normal that a
certain amount of heat is generated during charging.
c) Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
Charging the LED spotlight's internal rechargeable battery
The LED spotlight is suitable for outdoor use only when the cover is in place. Therefore,
the LED spotlight must be charged in a dry area shielded from moisture and wetness.
Make sure the cables do not get crimped, bent or damaged by sharp edges.

Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This
poses a risk of injury.
a) Via the solar panel
1. Make sure that the slide switch on the front of the LED spotlight is switched all the way to the left.
2. Set up the solar panel in a well-lit area facing south if possible. Do not set up the solar panel in the shade
or under any cover, i.e. beneath trees or buildings. Make sure that the solar panel is free of snow or
anything else which might block it.
3. Connect the broad plug on the solar panel recharger cable to the appropriate connection on the solar
panel. Make sure that the plug's metal contacts and those of the connection are aligned. The plug must
click into place. Only one orientation is possible. Do not use any force.
4. Remove the cover from the back of the LED spotlight.
5. Connect the solar panel charging cable's USB plug to the connection marked Solar.
6. The internal rechargeable battery is now charging. A red LED on the front of the LED spotlight lights up
during charging. A green LED on the front of the LED spotlight lights up when the internal rechargeable
battery is completely charged.
7. The internal rechargeable battery takes approx. 8 to 10 hours to charge completely under ideal lighting
conditions.
8. Disconnect the solar panel charging cable from the solar panel and from the LED spotlight when
charging is complete. Press the broad plug's fluted surface and unplug it carefully from the solar panel.
9. Replace the cover on the back of the LED spotlight.
b) Via the USB power adapter
The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
As power supply, only use the supplied mains adapter.
Only connect the power adapter to a normal mains socket connected to the public
supply. Before plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage stated on the
power adapter complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
Never unplug the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always
use the grips on the plug.
For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during storms.
The USB power adapter heats up during use. Make sure it is well ventilated and do not
cover the USB power adapter during use.
Do not short‑circuit the USB output.
Make sure the connection is correct. If the USB power adapter is incorrectly plugged in,
it may overheat or it may result in an electric shock or a fire.
Never leave the USB power adapter unattended during use.
1. Make sure that the slide switch on the front of the LED spotlight is switched all the way to the left.
2. Connect the USB DC cable's USB plug to the appropriate connection on the USB power adapter.
3. Remove the cover from the back of the LED spotlight.
4. Connect the USB DC cable's round plug to the connection marked Charger.
5. Plug the USB power adapter into a household power outlet.
6. The internal rechargeable battery is now charging. A red LED on the front of the LED spotlight lights up
during charging. A green LED on the front of the LED spotlight lights up when the internal rechargeable
battery is completely charged.
7. The internal rechargeable battery takes approx. 3 to 6 hours to charge completely.
8. Disconnect the USB power adapter from the power outlet and from the LED spotlight when charging is
complete.
9. Replace the cover on the back of the LED spotlight.
