• Set the current weather using the "+CF" (10) or "-" (12) buttons. This ensures the precise working of the
weather forecast station, because it can link the current atmospheric pressure and the current weather
conditions with each other.
• Exit the set up mode, by pressing the "CLOCK" (11) button briefl y.
Performing a sensor search
• Press and hold the "CH" (1) button for about 3 seconds, until the soil sensor indicators in the weather
station's display start to fl ash.
• The sensor search stops automatically after a few minutes (if it is to be ended prematurely, press the "CH"
(1) button for about 3 seconds).
• While a sensor search is active in the weather station (the soil sensor indicators fl ash), hold the "TX C/F"
(16) button in the soil sensor's battery compartment pressed (about 3 seconds) until the LED (17) above
the soil sensor indicator fl ashes briefl y.
In so doing, a data packet is transmitted and the weather station detects the soil sensor (the corresponding
channel number and associated readings appear on the display).
If more than one soil sensor is used, then a separate channel must be assigned to each soil
sensor! A maximum of fi ve soil sensors may be used.
Switching the display between °C and °F.
Select the desired temperature unit at the weather station by pressing the "+CF" (10) button briefl y. For the
soil sensor, the "TX C/F" (16) button in the battery compartment has to be pressed briefl y.
Switching soil sensors
If more than one soil sensor is registered at the weather station; press and release the "CH" (1) button
several times, to select the desired soil sensor and its readings. The current channel number is indicated on
the display (e.g. "CH1", "CH2", etc.).
An automatic change between the readings from the soil sensors can also be activated. Press
the "CH" (1) button several times until the "
able this mode, simply select one of the registered soil sensors by pressing the "CH" (1) button
briefl y.
For each channel, the soil moisture measured by the soil sensor is displayed as a bar graph. "DRY" stands
for dry soil, "WET" for moist soil.
Placing the soil sensor
The the soil sensor's measurement probe should be placed near the plant's roots, where it takes up its
nutrients and water. When inserting the soil sensor next to the plant, make sure you do not push the meas-
urement probe into the roots of the plant, and damage them. Moreover, this will lead to faulty measurements.
Never push the soil sensor into the soil or the root ball of the plant by applying force.
Watering of the plant monitored by the soil sensor should be done depending on the type of plant - some
plants need more water, others less. The season and the weather infl uence the water needs. For more
information on your plant, refer to appropriate subject literature or consult a speciality store.
Viewing or resetting MAX/MIN values
• Press the "MAX/MIN" (4) button briefl y to switch between the display of the maximum values ("MAX" in the
display), the minimum values ("MIN") and the current readings.
• If necessary, select one of the soil sensors, whose maximum / minimum values you would like to read, by
pressing the "CH" (1) button, see above.
• Hold the "MAX/MIN" (4) button pressed for 3 seconds, to erase the maximum / minimum values from the
memory.
Switching the watering alarm on/off
Weather station:The "WATER AL" (2) button must be pressed briefl y, to turn the watering alarm on/off.
When the alarm is turned on, the "
" icon will appear at the bottom left of the display.
If the soil is too dry, the weather station beeps once a minute and the "
Between 9 pm and 9 am, no beep is emitted (sleep mode).
Soil sensor:Here, a separate watering alarm can be turned on or off. Open the soil sensor's battery com-
partment and hold the "AL ON/OFF" button down for about 3 seconds.
When the alarm is turned on, the "
" icon appears at the top left of the soil sensor's display.
If the soil is too dry, the soil sensor beeps once a minute and the "

The snooze function is only available if you have activated the appropriate alarm mode, see b).
Weather Forecast
The weather forecast function is based on the observation of the atmospheric pressure trend during the past
few hours. Based on these values, a weather forecast for the next 12 - 24 hours is estimated. An accuracy
of up to 70% is thus achieved.
After commissioning, the weather station requires about 24 hours to take the fi rst measurements of the
atmospheric pressure and calculate a weather forecast based on them. We recommend (as described in
the programming of time) you set the current weather during the start-up, so as to increase the accuracy of
the display icons.
In areas where there are frequent rapid changes in air pressure (e.g., mountains), less accurate predictions
are obtained than in areas with slow changes.
For example, the change from "sunny" to "precipitation" does not necessarily mean it will rain but it indicates
that the weather will change for the worse.
If "sunny" is displayed at night, this means a starlit night.
Air pressure trend indicator
The atmospheric pressure trend display (2) is at the top left of the display.
Increasing atmospheric pressure (usually a sign of better weather ahead)
Constant atmospheric pressure
Decreasing atmospheric pressure (usually a sign of worse weather ahead)
Replacing the Battery
The battery needs changing, if the display contrast fades or the battery icon appears in the weather station's
or the soil sensor's display.
When the batteries are replaced, all the settings are lost; proceed as you did during the fi rst
start-up.
Disposal
a) General instructions
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are: Cd
= Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return used (rechargeable) batteries free of charge at the offi cial collection points in
your municipality, our stores, or where ever (rechargeable) batteries are sold!
You thus fulfi l the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
