Intended use
This wall clock with LCD display is used to display time, date and weekday. The weekday may
be displayed in 8 different languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish,
Russian). In addition, the wall clock features an alarm function and an extra large display.
By means of the integrated DCF-receiver the time of day and the date can be set automatically.
Of course, a manual setting is possible too.
The voltage of the Jumbo LCD DCF wall clock is supplied via 3 x 1.5 Volt C batteries (type:
Baby).
The product is only approved for use in dry indoor locations.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
No part of the product should be modified or reassembled.
The safety instructions are to be observed without fail!
Explanation of Symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of electric
shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during handling,
operation and control.
The "Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential
damage!
We do not assume any liability for personal injury or damage to property
caused by incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety instructions.
The warranty will be null and void in such cases.
• The product must not be modified or converted, as not only the CE approval will
become void but so will the warranty.
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, strong
vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• After rapid changes in temperature, the product requires some time to adjust to the
surrounding temperature. Wait until the product has adjusted to the ambient tem-
perature before use.
• This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• Please contact qualified personnel if you are unsure about the safety or the correct
use of the product.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic films /
bags etc. can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a risk of suffocation.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect
the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
• A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of
time or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are
to be observed.
• The product is only approved for use in dry indoor locations.
• Ensure that no sources of magnetism or electro-magnetism or heat sources are in
the vicinity of the product.
• Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress. Falls from a low height and
any pressure applied to the components can damage the device.
• Never pour fluids above electrical devices.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a qualified
specialist or a specialised repair shop.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact
our technical service or another specialist.

• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.

• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by chil-
dren or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
• Make sure that the battery is neither short-circuited nor thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• If the battery is not to be used for a while (e.g. storage), please remove it. Old batteries may
leak and cause damage to the product, which will lead to the loss of the warranty/guarantee.
• For the correct disposal of batteries, please read the chapter "Disposal".

Start-up
• Open the "Battery compartment"(C2) at the rear of the housing and insert 3 x 1.5V batteries of
the type Baby (Type: C) observing the correct polarity (observe positive/+ and negative/-). All
display elements appear in the display briefly.
• Close the battery compartment.
• The radio symbol flashes „
During the DCF signal search, the keys on the device are locked.
• The wall clock can receive and evaluate the so-called DCF signal. This is a signal which is sent
by a transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt on the Main). Its range is up to 1,500 km and,
under ideal reception conditions, even up to 2,000 km. Among other information, the DCF sig-
nal includes the exact time (theoretical deviation is 1 second in one million years) and the date.
Of course, the complicated manual setting of summer and winter time is not required with the
reception of the DCF signal. However, the time can also be set manually.

". This indicates that the clock is searching for the DCF signal.
When selecting the operation location of the wall clock make sure that it is placed far
from electric/electronic devices, cables, wall sockets or metal parts, if possible.
These may have a negative influence on the reception of the DCF signal.
With current summer time the display shows the lettering "DST" . DST means
"Daylight Saving Time" = summer time.
