Preparations for Installation

The product may only be installed and mounted by a qualifi ed technician (e.g.
electrician), who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German
electrical wiring regulations)!
Improper work, carried out on the mains voltage, endangers not only your
own life but also the life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it
yourself but ask a qualifi ed technician.
Observe the safety instructions!
• Only install the LED fl oodlight on a stable surface. Use screws and plugs that are suitable for
the surface.
• The LED fl oodlight must be protected on the sub-distribution board by a 10/16A fuse. An
earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this (FI protective switch).
• The LED fl oodlight must be disconnected from the power supply during installation. It is not
suffi cient to just turn off at the light switch!
Turn the power off and ensure that all the poles are not carrying a current by removing the
electric circuit's fuse, or switching off at the circuit breaker. Secure it against unauthorised
reconnection, e.g., with a danger sign. In addition, switch off the associated ground fault
circuit interrupter.
• Check that the mains connection is current free with a suitable tester.
Only use a cable for the mains connection, which is suitable for being permanently
laid outdoors.
Installation
Pay attention to the information in chapter „Preparations for Installation".
• Fasten the mounting bracket for the LED fl oodlight using at least two screws at a suitable
location on the wall. Depending on the installation location, suitable screws and, if necessary,
screw anchors are to be used.
When drilling mounting holes or screwing down, ensure that no existing electrical
cable, gas or water pipes are damaged!
• The ideal installation height is between 2.5 and 3 m, depending where it is installed, and the
ambient conditions (position of the area to be lit).
• Remove the cover of the installation box on the back of the LED fl oodlight, by unscrewing all
four fi xing screws from the cover.
• Loosen the cap nut for the cable gland.
• Remove the handle of the strain relief by unscrewing the two screws.
• Remove the insulation on the mains cable to the required length.
• Insert the power cable through the cable gland.
• Connect the power cable with the terminal strip in the LED fl oodlight:
brown wire = L
blue wire = N
Green-yellow wire = PE / protective earth conductor / earthing symbol
The protective earth conductor must be connected!
If the LED fl oodlight is replacing an existing light and no protective earth conductor
is available, the LED fl oodlight must not be installed. First, draw a new mains cable.
Where the protective earth is not connected, a fault with the mains voltage might
result in the metal housing of the LED fl oodlight becoming live. There is a risk of a
life-threatening electric shock!
Make sure only the minimum required length of the cable is stripped; otherwise it could cause
a short-circuit.
Also check the other screw connections on the terminal strip (for the connection cables to the
light electronics) and tighten them if necessary.
• Fasten the mains cable to the strain relief. Attach the handle of the strain relief previously
removed and screw it fi rmly in place.
• Screw the cable gland's cap nut tight so the rubber seal inside the cable gland is sealed.
• Attach the cover previously removed and screw it fi rmly in place with four screws.
• Adjust the LED foodlight angle so that it illuminates the desired area.
• Switch on the mains voltage again and make sure that the lamp is working.
If the LEDs in the LED fl oodlight do not light up, switch off the power immediately
and please have the connection of the lamps checked by a technician (e.g. electri-
cian)!

Maintenance and Care

• The LED fl oodlight is maintenance-free, this is why you should never open or dismantle it
(apart from the connection / installation described in this operating manual).
• You should occasionally clean dust and dirt off the glass plate on the lamp to ensure proper
functioning.
• Switch off the LED fl oodlight or disconnect it from the mains voltage before cleaning. Let it
cool down suffi ciently.
• The exterior of the LED fl oodlight should only be wiped with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Where it
becomes very dirty, use a cloth which is slightly moistened with lukewarm water.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing
(discolouring) or impair operation.
Do not press too hard on the housing or the glass plate, as scratches might appear.
Never spray water e.g. with a garden hose or a high-pressure cleaner, at the LED
fl oodlight!
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
