5.4 Initial Commissioning

It is absolutely necessary to disconnect the weighing scales from the
mains before connecting or disconnecting a second display to/from the
scales.
This second display is exclusively suitable for the connection to KERN
balances.
When connected, the weighing scale must be set to Cont (continuous data output)
and a baud rate of 9600.
For details please see operating instructions for the connected balance.
Plug one end of the supplied interface cable into the balance and the other end into
the right side of the case of the second display unit.

6 Operation

6.1 Display

Connect the device to the power supply by using the supplied power cords.
The device will run a self-test after which the display of the connected weighing
scales will be adopted. Now it is ready for operation.
"Error" will be displayed if the connected balance does not send a signal or is not
connected correctly.
