Operational faults

Before each fault elimination:
 Switch off device.
 Wait for standstill of the device.
 Pull out mains plug.
Fault
Motor does not start
Shredding material is not drawn
into the shredder
Shredding material not cut
cleanly.
Device starts but blocks under
as slight load and switches off
via protective motor switch.
In case of further failures please contact our customer service.
Possible cause
No power supply
Mains cable defective
Machine overloaded/blocked and
automatically cuts out after 5 seconds
reversing.
Retaining basket unlocked
(safety cut-out device of the retaining basket
has tripped)
Blade shaft blocked even after several
reversing tries.
Capacitor faulty
The cutting roller is running in reverse.
Wrong switch position
Shredding material caught in funnel
Shredding material too soft or wet
Cutting roller worn
Fixed counter blade
adjusted.
Extension cable too long or cross-section to
small.
Socket too far from mains supply and cross-
section of mains cable too small.
Remedy
Check fuses
have these checked (electrician)
Switch the reversing switch to
continue the operation.
Lock the retaining basket
1. Loosen the adjusting knob (J).
2. Switch then the reversing switch to REVERSE
to continue the operation.

Bring machine to manufacturer or authorised
workshop for repair
Switch off device and switch over direction of rotation

Push down with a branch and shred
Adjust fixed counter blade as described under
„adjusting the fixed counter blade". In case of severe
wear, replace cutting roller.
Have the cutting roller replaced by the customer
service.

Extension cable at least 1.5 mm², maximum 25 m
long. If a longer cable is used, minimum cross-
section 2.5 mm².

