6.9.5 Administrating configurations

as a project

Up to 64 configurations (i. e. all memory loca-
tions of the DSM-260) may be combined as proj-
ects so that the configurations do not need to be
transferred, memorized and loaded individually.
A new project may be compiled from individual
configurations if these have already been mem-
orized on the computer (
natively, the complete memory of the DSM-260
may be loaded as a project to be saved as a
backup copy on the computer or to serve as a
basis for a new project.

6.9.5.1 Compiling a project

To compile a new project:
1) Click the button "Store Project". The window
"Store Project" opens (
2) Select the memory location in the field "Select
Position" or in the list under "Project List".
3) Via the button "Search Program" load a con-
figuration memorized on the computer.
4) Enter the name for the configuration in the
field "Edit Name Program". The name may
consist of 16 characters as a maximum. It is
recommended to refrain from using special
(country-specific) characters (e. g. ä, ö, ü, ß,
è, ô, ì, á, ñ, μ) as they will not correctly be
shown on the display of the DSM-260.
5) Add the configuration to the list via the button
"Add to Project List".
6) Repeat the steps 2) to 6) until all desired con-
figurations are contained in the project.
7) To remove a configuration from the project
list, select its memory location in the field
"Select Position" or in the list under "Project
List" and click the button "Delete from Project
List". In the dialog window opened "Delete
Program from the Project list, are you sure?"
confirm or cancel the procedure.
8) Prior to closing the window "Store Project"
store the project in any case (
6.9.5.2) otherwise it will be lost.

6.9.5.2 Memorizing a project

To store the project after the project has newly
been created or loaded from the memory of the
DSM-260:
1) Click the button "Save Project to PC" in the
window "Store Project" (
2) Enter the desired file name, select the mem-
ory location and store the file.
As a preset for the memory location, the
subfolder "Project" created automatically dur-
ing programme installation is selected. The
file extension *.prj is automatically attached
to the name entered.

6.9.5.3 Loading a project

To load a project memorized on the computer:
1) Click the button "Store Project". The window
"Store Project" opens (
2) Click the button "Search Project". The dialog
window "Open" opens.
3) Select the desired project file and confirm the

6.9.5.4 Transferring the project to the unit

A project can completely be transferred to the
memory of the DSM-260. The previous memory

exchange only some configurations in the unit.
To transfer the present project to the memory of
the DSM-260:
1) In the window "Store Project" (

rent project to device, are you sure?" confirm
or cancel the procedure.
"Project stored on the device" appears.

6.9.5.5 Loading a project from the unit

To load the complete configuration memory of
the DSM-260 as a project into the computer:
1) Click the button "Read Project from Device"
in the window "Store Project" (
2) In the dialog window opened "Read current
project from device - are you sure?" confirm
or cancel the procedure.

After loading, "Device project" can be found
under "Project Name" as a source of the project
loaded. The project can now e. g. be saved on
the computer (
described under "Compiling project" (
ter 6.9.5.1), be completed with memorized con-
figurations and then retransferred to the unit

6.10 Locking the unit

As described in chapter 5.6.2, the unit may be
locked against accidental misadjustment. This is
also possible via the control programme:
1) Click the following button.

frame and the operation is locked.
After separating the connection (
6.12) the unit remains locked.
2) To unlock, click the button again.

6.11 Entering a password

To be able to lock the unit with a password or to
change the password of the unit, it is required to
enter the present password first.
Note: When delivered and after the reset of the
unit (
chapter 5.7), the following password

To make an unauthorized access difficult, this
password should be changed in any case
(
chapter 6.11.2).
To enter the present password:
1) Click the following button.
