6. Operating Notes

6.1 Optimum Placement
In order to ensure consistent coverage and intelligibility from the
first to the last row of the auditorium,
1.
Place the EasyPort® FP1 as high as possible using a
loudspeaker stand.
2.
Check that loudspeaker is clearly visible from each seat or
standing room area and that the sound will not be absorbed by
people or objects.
3.
To optimally align the EasyPort® FP1, you can use the optional
SHP1 stand adapter:
1.
Mount the loudspeaker on the stand adapter.
2.
Place the loudspeakeradapter on the loudspeaker stand.
3.
Extend the stand to its full length and aim the
loudspeaker down at the audience in the same way you
woud aim a spot-light to cover the entire audience.

6.2 Avoiding Feedback

When using your EasyPort® FP1 with a wired or wireles microphone,
acoustic feedback may occur so the loudspeaker would start
whistling or howling. To prevent feedback.
1.
Make sure the talker will stand behind the loudspeaker in order
to prevent feedback.
2.
Make sure never to point the microphone element directly at
the loudspeaker.
3.
Hold the handheld transmitter by the shaft. Be sure not to
cover the microphone element with your hand.
4.
Should the loudspeaker start whistling or howling at the same
turn the VOLUME control down CCW to the point that the
feedback noise will stop.

7. Cleaning

You can clean the loudspeaker enclosure with a moistened cloth.
Make sure that liquid will not penetrate into the case.

8. Radio receiver installation in FP1

The FP1 was designed in such a way
that specialised dealers can install the
radio receiver independently, following
successful completion of an installation
training course at Fohhn Audio AG.
8.1
Please observe the following points when selecting
a radio receiver:
1.
Installation width
Receivers up to 9.5" wide can be installed in the radio receiver
slot.
Note:
There is also the option of installing two 9.5" radio receivers.
If you use small receivers EP-64 RM or EP-16 RM, two radio
receivers can be inserted in the radio receiver slot.
2.
Installation depth
The installation depth is limited and should be checked in
advance. When planning, take into account the dimensions
necessary for the jack or XLR and DC connectors.
3.
Installation height
The height of the radio receiver differs from manufacturer
to manufacturer. If you intend to install one receivers, this
dimension is limited by the installation slot available.
4.
12 V power supply
Make sure that the radio receiver can be operated with a 12
V DC voltage.
5.
Quality of the radio microphone system
Only high-quality radio microphones ensure a high level
of operational safety. Therefore, only use microphones with
very good sound characteristics and make sure that you select
feedback-proof microphones.
6.
Radio microphone system approval
Only use transmitter and receiver equipment with technical
radio approval. For regulatory authorities in Germany, the
guidelines for technical radio approval (TRA) of transmitter
and receiver equipment as per §12 TKZulV apply.
Operation in Germany is subject to approval.

8.2
Please observe the following points when installing a radio
receiver:
1.
Cable set
Only use the original Fohhn Audio cable set with special
connectors. Make sure the connector configuration is correct.
2.
Secure connectors
Take special care to ensure that the NF and DC plug connectors
to the radio receivers are specially secured. Connectors are
usually not fitted with a secure locking mechanism and can
"fall out" through slight vibration during transportation.
