2 Safety Notes

The 2.4 GHz wireless system corresponds to the
EC directive 89/336/EEC for electromagnetic com-
patibility.
The system is only suitable for inside use. Protect it
against impurities, humidity, and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range -10 °C up to +55 °C).
Do not break off or scratch the antenna (1). It is
rigidly mounted. Do not try to pull it out of the unit.
Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning, do not use
chemicals or water.
If the transmission system is used for purposes
other than originally intended, if it is not connected
or operated correctly or not repaired in a qualified
way, there is no liability for possible damage.
If the system is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, it must be disposed of in a local recycling
plant.
3 Applications
The 2.4 GHz wireless system transmits TV/video pic-
tures and stereo HiFi sound in a wireless way. For this
purpose the following units are available:
AV-200SET complete set with transmitter and
receiver
AV-200TX
transmitter station
AV-210R
receiver station with stereo sound
AV-100R
receiver station with mono sound
To the transmitter station e. g. a satellite receiver, a
video recorder, a HiFi system, or a surveillance cam-
era is connected. The transmitter station transmits the
signals to the receiver station from where they are fed
to the reproduction unit (e. g. TV set, video recorder,
HiFi amplifier, or surveillance monitor). VPS and
video text signals are of course transmitted together
with these signals.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions. In the open it can extend up to 300 m,
inside buildings up to 30 m according to the condition
of the walls. The RF waves are strongly influenced by
metal, e. g. they are reflected or shielded.
3.1 Approval
The approval for the transmitter station is valid ac-
cording to the R+TTE directive (Radio and Telecom-
munication Technical Equipment) in the countries of
the European Union. For the operation in countries
outside the EU please contact your retailer or the
MONACOR subsidiary of the corresponding country.
The receiver station does not need any special ap-
proval.

4 Setting into Operation

4.1 Placing the transmitter station and the re-
ceiver station
The best receiving quality is obtained if the antennas
(1) of the stations are parallel to each other. Practical
experience has shown that an optimum reception is
obtained if the stations are placed at a height of
min. 1.5 to 2 m above the ground. Prior to the final
mounting a trial run is recommended as the transmis-
sion quality can substantially be changed by dis-
placing the units by a few centimetres only.
4.2 Channel selection
The wireless transmission is made in the 2.4 GHz
range divided by the manufacturer into five channels
with a distance of 14 MHz. As a maximum, three chan-
nels can be used at the same time (channels 1, 3, and
5) as two adjacent channels will interfere with each
other. If two channels are required, several combina-
tions are possible:
channel 1 with channel 3, 4, or 5
channel 2 with channel 4 or 5
channel 3 with channel 5
The transmitter station and the receiver station must
be set to the same channel, otherwise no transmis-
sion will be possible. The units are factory-set to
channel 1.
1) For switching the channel, screw off the bottom
housing shell of the transmitter station. Adjust the
channel with the four DIP switches (fig. 4).
2) For switching the channel of the receiver station,
pierce the small circle of the label "channel" (5)
with a screw driver. Based on the present position
on channel 1, turn the selector switch clockwise
with as many clicking steps as necessary by
means of the screw driver.
If the reproduction unit does not receive any
signal after setting into operation because the re-
ceiver station has not been correctly adjusted, turn
the channel switch during operation until the trans-
mission signal will be received.
4.3 Connecting the units
For the operation of the transmitter station and the re-
ceiver station one electronically regulated power sup-
ply unit each is additionally required, e. g. PS-128A or
PA-362 from MONACOR.
Important! The transmitter station and the receiver
station are of the same appearance.
They can be distinguished by the label
on the bottom side of each unit, either
lettered "transmitter" or "receiver". When
connecting, do not mix up the two units,
otherwise the RF system does not
operate.
1) Connect the DIN AV jack (2) of the transmitter
station to the audio (video) output of the signal
source (e. g. satellite receiver, video recorder, HiFi
system, surveillance camera). If the signal source
