5.3. Selecting waveband
• Press B B AND to select a waveband (frequency range): FM (VHF), AM (medium
wave), or SW 1/2 (short wave). The waveband is displayed.
5.4. Adjusting volume
• Turn the V V OLUME control to adjust the volume.
5.5. Selecting stations
The display shows you the waveband and frequency selected.
• Press H H OUR + or M M IN - to set a frequency.
NOTES:
Pressing briefly changes the frequency in steps of 0.05 MHz for FM (VHF) and
steps of 0.005 MHz for SW 1/2 (short wave).
For larger changes in the short wave band (SW), press S S W LIST.
For AM (medium wave) the frequency is changed in steps of 9 kHz or 10 kHz
depending on the setting of the 9K 10K switch (in battery compartment).
As a rule the 10 K setting is only used in the USA. Before changing the 9 K 10 K
setting, press the R R ESET button (in battery compartment).
The display shows when you are receiving a stereo signal.
• You should try out a variety of positions for the antenna and the radio itself to see
which gives you the best VHF reception.
• For better medium wave reception, try changing the position of the radio or the
direction it is facing.
5.6. Automatic station search
• Press H H OUR + or MIN - for about 1 second to start the automatic station search.
The search stops on reaching the first station with a sufficiently strong signal.
5.7. Entering frequencies directly
1. Use B B AND to enter the desired waveband.
2. Press E E NTER.
