• Remove the batteries from the radio if they are exhausted or if you are not going
to use the radio for a long period. This avoids damage due to leaking batteries.
• If a battery is leaking, remove it from the radio immediately. Then clean the
contacts before inserting a new battery. Caution: battery acid is corrosive!
• If battery acid has leaked out, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous
membranes. Rinse the acid off the affected parts immediately with plenty of clear
water and seek medical assistance immediately.
• Always replace all batteries at the same time. Use alkaline batteries for
preference. Do not mix batteries of different types, brands or capacities.
• When replacing batteries, be sure to insert them the right way round, i.e. observe
correct polarity (+/–).
• Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Strong heat can damage batteries.
Position and use
• The speaker contains a magnet. Do not allow any magnetic cards or magnetised
objects (music cassettes, watches, speakers etc.) to come close to the radio as
this could damage them.
• Do not place the radio close to strong magnets. This could affect reception.
• Do not place any heavy objects on the radio. Do not drop the radio or allow it to
fall.
• Protect the radio from moisture, dust, extreme temperatures (over 60°C) and
direct sunlight.
• Place the radio on a firm and level surface.
• Make sure there is sufficient room for air to circulate around it. Do not cover up
the ventilation openings.
• Do not place any candles or other open flames on the radio.
Surroundings
• If the device is moved from a cold place to a warm place, condensation may form
inside it. Leave the device switched off for several hours before use.
