3 SET UP
3.1 OPERATING CHECKS______________________________________________________
After the initia l inspection test the gr o omer for proper
operation. If groomer is be ing fitted with an accessory you
may want to assemble these and check operation of the
groomer with accessory attached.
1. Test the Interlock system.
[Section 3.4].
2. Start groomer and check that switches, pedals, and
controls operate as described.
[Section 2.2]
3. Check that warning lights are working.
3.4 INTERLOCK SYSTEM ______________________________________________________
1. The Interlock System pr e vents the engine from starting
unless the parking brake is en gaged and the tra ction
pedal is in Neutral. The syst em also stops the engine if
the operator leaves the seat with the traction pedal out
of Neutral, or parking brake disengaged.

Never operate equipment with the Interlock System
disconnected or malfunctioning. Do not disconnect
or bypass any switch.
2. Perform each of th e following tests to in s ure the
Interlock System is functi o ning properly. Stop the test
and have the system inspected and repaired if any of
the tests fail as listed below:
l The engine does not start in t e st 1;
l The engine does start during tests 2 or 3;
l The engine continues to run during test 4.

Start engine, then lift y our weight off seat. The engine will shut down.

4. Check that brake pedal does not have more than one
inch free travel before engaging.
5. Operate traction pedal and check that groomer
operates smoothly in b oth directions. Check that
groomer stops when traction pedal is released.
6. Check that groomer does not creep with en gine
running and traction pedal in neu tral.

7. Check that attachments raise and lower correctly.
3. Refer to the chart below fo r each test and follow the
check (4) marks across the chart. Shut engine off
between each test.
Test 1: Represents normal starting procedure. The
operator is seated , parking brake is e ngaged, and the
traction pedal is in Neutral.
Test 2: The engine must not start if th e parking brake is
DISENGAGED.
Test 3: The engine must not start if traction pedal is not
in Neutral.
Test 4: Start the engine in the normal manner then
disengage parking brake and lift your weight off the
seat. Engine must shut down. H
