8. Decommissioning

Please note following terms by reasons of fire and explosion risk:
8.1.

After case of fire

Attention: Only after 6-fold duration of the fire case, the cabinets can be opened.
An ignitable steam-air mixture could be developed in dependence on the fire
duration. Remove all ignition sources within a distance of 10 m round the cabinet
at the minimum. Open the doors with highest cautiousness. Use only non-
sparking tools.

9. Maintenance

The PROTECTO safety cabinet is a safety-related installation. According to §4,
paragraph 3 Workplaces Ordinance (Arbeitsstättenverordnung ArbStättV), § 10 BGR 234
Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health and Regulations of the Trade Association
(Berufssicherheitsver- ordnung und Berufsgenossenschaftlicher Regel), annual safety-
related test have regularly to be made by an expert.
After the assembly and before start-up of the PROTECTO safety cabinet, it is to be
checked for external and recognizable damages or defects. Afterwards, checks have to
be made in below mentioned periods as well as after changes and repairs.

9.1. Everyday check

Leakage liquids are to be taken out immediately and disposed properly.

Check the PROTECTO safety cabinet regularly for mechanical damages,
contamination and corrosion.
9.2. Monthly ckeck
The monthly check includes following points:

Door closer: Open the door and check faultless closing.
−
Ventliation: Test the ventilation efficiency by means of wool fibre, sensor or the like.

Sealing strips: Check the correct place of the sealing strips inside the door fold and
at the face of the door/s. Sealing strips with visible strips are to be changed
immediately

9.3. Checkup by our maintenance service

The checkup of safety cabinets is prescribed according to DIN EN 14470, part 1.
The state of the art is an annual maintenance rate. We offer both a single inspection
and maintenance agreements.
