7. Commissioning
Venting the pump
If the rotor chamber needs to be vented, this can be started
manually.
f Turn the control dial to the centre position, to the "air"
f
symbol.
After three seconds, the pump will start the venting process.
Venting takes 10 minutes. while the pump is venting, the LED
flashes green at a rapid rate. Noise may occur during venting.
The pump terminates the venting process after 10 minutes. The
pump continues to operate at the maximum constant speed.
Note
If you do not wish to operate the pump at the maxi-
mum constant speed, adjust the control type and the
delivery head. See chapter "Settings".
You can terminate the venting process by turning the control
dial.
Note
This venting function does not vent the entire solar
thermal system.

8. Settings

All functions of the integral pump can be adjusted using the
control dial or via an external Pwm signal.
Making settings using the control dial
Turn the control dial to the relevant symbol for the required
control type.
Symbol Control type
Variable differential pressure: Select the required delivery head
to the left of the centre position.
Constant speed: Select the speed at which the pump should
constantly run to the right of the centre position. Pump opera-
tion is not self-regulating with this control type.
Venting: The pump takes 10 minutes to vent. The pump runs
alternately at high and low speeds. The pump drives accumula-
tions of air out of the rotor chamber and directly to the system
air vent valve. This venting function does not vent the entire
solar thermal system.
Pwm signal logic 1 (for heating or geothermal energy): If you
turn the control dial fully to the left, the pump switches to the
mode intended for heating and geothermal energy with Pwm
signal logic 1. The colour of the LED ring changes to orange.
The pump speed is controlled subject to the Pwm input signal.
If the signal cable is separated from the pump, e.g. due to a
cable break, the pump accelerates to maximum speed.
Pwm signal logic 2 (solar): If you turn the control dial fully to the
right, the pump switches to the mode with Pwm signal logic 2.
The pump speed is controlled subject to the Pwm input signal.
The colour of the LED ring changes to orange. If the signal lead
is separated from the pump, e.g. due to a lead break, the pump
comes to a standstill.
Note
In the event of an interruption to the power supply, all
settings and displays are retained.
External control via a PWM signal
An external controller carries out the comparison of set value
and actual value. The external controller issues a Pwm signal
to the pump as an actuating variable. The Pwm signal gener-
ator sends a periodic sequence of pulses, the duty cycle, to
the pump. The actuating variable is determined by the ratio of
the pulse duration to the pulse period length. The duty cycle
is indicated as a dimensionless ratio with a value from 0 to 1 %
or from 0 to 100 %.
