9. Shutdown
Draining the system
The gravity brake is integrated inside the ball valve above the
pump and has an opening pressure of 20 hPa.
f Switch OFF the solar control unit and prevent it being
f
restarted.
WARNING Burns
The heat transfer medium expelled can be very hot.
f Position and secure the heat-resistant contain-
f
er in such a way that there is no risk for peo-
ple nearby when the solar thermal system is
drained.
f Open the gravity brake by moving the handle of the ball
f
valve to the 45° position.
In this position, the ball valve is half closed. The heat transfer
medium flows in both directions.
f Vent the system at the highest point (above the f
collectors).
f Connect a heat-resistant hose to the lowest drain valve in f
the solar thermal system. Ensure that the solar medium is
collected in a heat-resistant container.
f Open the drain valve at the lowest point of the system. f

10. Troubleshooting

Pump Operating state
LED
Illumi- The pump is running ac-

Rapidly The pump runs in the
