the speed of the drive, press the QUARZ button. The green LED goes out and the speed of the drive can be
adjusted via the speed adjuster at a range of ± 10%. You can switch back to the precise speed adjustment
of 33-1/3 or 45 rpm in any position by pressing the QUARZ button.
Speed control
With the dot marking on the edge of the turntable you can control the speed of the drive with the help of the
permanently lit up stroboscopic light which is stabilised via a quartz oscillator. In the table below you can
see which one of the 4 dot rows needs to be observed at what speed and at what mains frequency. If the
speed has been set precisely, it seems like the dots of the corresponding line stand still. If the row of dots
seems to move toward the right or the left, then the speed is too slow or too fast.

Notes
To protect your records and the pick-up arm stylus always use the pick-up arm lift to raise or lower the pick-
up arm. Close the pick-up arm lock after use.
The electronic break does not work when you switch off the power switch before you have pressed the
START/PAUSE button.
During playback avoid concussions by all means. Never place the pick-up arm next to the mount.
To playback singles with a big space in the middle, please use the single's adapter (puck). Do not switch on
the power switch if the turntable is not put on.
Switch your amplifier off before unscrewing the system carrier.
Never turn on the device immediately after it has been brought from a cold into a warm room. Condensation
water that forms might destroy your device.
Leave the device switched off and wait until it has reached room temperature. Wait till the conden-
sation water has evaporated.
Avoid operation during adverse surrounding conditions. Adverse surrounding conditions are:
• too high humidity (> 90 % relative air humidity) dampness, dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvents
• too high surrounding temperatures (> +35 °C), too low surrounding temperatures (< +5 °C)
Music should not be listened to at excessive volume over a longer period of time, since this can damage the
hearing.

Transport

For short transportation:
Close the pick-up arm lock. Only transport the device horizontally with the turntable in place. If a transport
is not possible horizontally, take off the turntable and transport it separately.
For longer transportation:
• Secure the pick-up arm with the pick-up arm lock
• Place the plastic protection over the system's stylus
• Remove the cartridge system
• Remove the counterbalance
• Take off the turntable
• Take off the lid and remove the hinges
• Repack the device in its original packaging

Assembling the system carrier
Before assembling the cartridge system, make sure that the pick-up arm is secured on the pick-up arm rest.
Guide the system carrier with the assembled cartridge into the screwed connection of the S tubular pick-up
arm. Hold the system carrier in horizontal position and turn the sleeve nut anticlockwise, until the system
carrier is fixed tightly.

Setting of Pick-up Arm

Balancing of pick-up arm
Make sure that the setting adjuster for the anti-skating force, next to the pick-up arm axis, is set to zero.
Remove the stylus cap, if your cartridge has a removable stylus protection.
Unlock the pick-up arm locking clamp and take the pick-up arm from the pick-up arm rest. Lower the lift.
Doing this, support the pick-up arm. Be careful not to let the pick-up arm stylus touch the turntable. Adjust
the pick-up arm counterbalance, so that the pick-up arm hangs exactly horizontally. By turning the counter-
balance anticlockwise, the pick-up arm is lowered onto the side of the cartridge. By turning the counterbal-
ance clockwise, the pick-up arm is raised again. Set the counterbalance in such a way that it swings itself
horizontally into balance. After having carried out the setting put the pick-up arm back onto the pick-up arm
rest and close the pick-up arm locking clip.
Setting of stylus force
Now hold the counterbalance with one hand so that it can not turn while you set the black adjustment wheel
on the counterbalance in such a way that the zero on the scale is exactly above the red line on the pick-up
arm. Make sure that the pick-up arm is still precisely balanced, if this is not the case it needs to be read-
justed. If you turn the counterbalance again directly, you can set the desired stylus force (recommended 3
g) and read it on the scale.
Setting of anti-skating force
Set the adjuster for the anti-skating force onto the same level as for the stylus force (recommended 3).
