3. Intended Use

The direct voltage converter PDCC-40 DC-DC converter permits operation of 12 - 15 V/DC-consumers, such as halo-
gen lamps, radio devices and portable TVs with 12 V-connections on a 19 - 33 V/DC battery system/grid.
There also is the option of charging a 12 V rechargeable battery.
The micro-processor-controlled DC-DC converter
- can issue an adjustable output voltage of 12 -15 VDC in steps of 0.2 V at an input voltage of 19 - 33 V/DC.
- has a three-digit LCD to display voltage, current, operating mode and error diagnosis as well as an additional
charge display.
- permits charging in quick-charge (14.3 V) or maintenance-charge mode (13.6 V).
- for best power supply to remote loads or charging rechargeable batteries, remote voltage measurement is pos-
sible.
- permits external activation/deactivation via a key switch, relay, etc.
- the always-active auxiliary output (13.8 V/DC, 0.5 A) can be used to operate electronic devices such as safety
facilities or to remotely switch the device on and off.
- has an output for an undervoltage warning with remote alarm connection.
- has a temperature-controlled fan.
Use in wet rooms or outdoors, or under detrimental circumstances is not permitted.
Unfavourable ambient conditions are: Dust and flammable gases, fumes or solvents, thunderstorms or thunderstorm
conditions like strong electrostatic fields, etc.
For safety reasons, only use accessories which are adjusted to the specifications of the devices.
Any use other than that described above will lead to damage to the product and involves additional risks such as, for
example, short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc.
No part of this product must be modified or converted!
