INTRODUCTION / GENERAL

What is so special with the ELAC Miracord 70?
The massive glass platter is coated with a layer of
black ceramic on the underside which gives it a dark
translucent appearance that accentuates its three-di-
mensional form.
With a mass of almost 2.6 kg the platter rests on a
sub platter which is equipped with a hardened steel
axis rotating on a ceramic ball.
The two radial bearings are made of sintered bronze.

The base of the Miracord 70 is made of
with a black high gloss coating. The sub platter is
belt-driven by an extremely smooth synchronous
motor
from Premotec.
The new tonearm is designed to DIN and IEC stan-
dards to minimize tracking angle errors. It employs
materials such as aluminum and steel and features
multiple electrical grounding points. It is also fi tted
with a graduated counterweight and an anti-skating
mechanism with a rotary knob that allows for conve-
nient adjustment to suit different cartridge systems.
The connection is done via gold plated RCA jacks
and a ground screw. The connection to the external
power supply is done via a low voltage connector.

mounting the hinges are already inside the plinth on
the rear side of the turntable.
