Proper use

❐ Check the appliance for damage before every use. The appliance must not be used
if the appliance, the power cable or the plug show any visible signs of damage. Don
not try to repair the appliance yourself or to replace the power cable or the plug. In
case of damage, immediately contact the customer service.
❐ Before every use check whether the appliance is clean and dry and has been as-
sembled and closed correctly.
❐ Do not use any additional accessories. Only use accessories supplied by the
manufacturer.
❐ The appliance must not be heated for more than 1 minute while it is empty. Do not let
the motor run when the appliance is empty.
❐ Make sure that the maximum fi lling capacity (MAX mark in the food container or
water reservoir) is not exceeded!
❐ Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is in use.
❐ Do not transport the appliance while it is in use.
❐ Hold the measuring cup steady when working with a motor speed of 5 or higher, or
with the "Turbo" function.
❐ Never use the stir insert without blade protection.
❐ When using the stir insert, do not operate the appliance at motor speeds exceeding 4.
❐ To prevent boiling over, do not insert the measuring cup in the lid opening while
cooking food (particularly cream or milk) at temperatures of 100 °C and over. Only
insert it when puréeing food at a high setting to prevent food from spraying out or if
you cook at low cooking temperatures!
❐ Do not drop the appliance and do not subject it to heavy shocks.
❐ Do not subject the appliance to extreme temperatures, extreme temperature fl uctua-
tions, moisture or direct sunlight.
❐ If you remove the basket insert from the food container or if you remove the steamer
adapter or cooking container, be absolutely sure to place the insert on a heat-resist-
ant surface such as a pot trivet.
❐ Do not place any easily infl ammable objects e. g. paper, cardboard or plastic into or
on top of the appliance.
❐ Pull the plug out of the plug socket:
– when the appliance is not used,
– if a fault occurs during operation,
– before an electrical storm,
– before taking out and/or removing accessories,
– before cleaning the appliance or accessories.
❐ If you want to pull the plug out of the plug socket, always pull on the plug and never
on the cable.
❐ Never touch the appliance, the power cable or the plug with wet hands.
❐ Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it.
❐ The stirrer blade and the base unit are not dishwasher-proof!
