A few preparations are necessary before you can start using the
intelligent fresh water kit. The following preparations must be car-
ried out by a professionally qualified person:

The mains connection for the IMPRESSA must be protected
by a residual current device (RCD).
U
There must be a power switch to disconnect the power supply
to the IMPRESSA.

The house end of the permanent water connection (up to the
supplied valve block) must have a shut-off valve with a non-
return valve (type EA) and filter.

The connection must be accomplished in accordance with the
technical data (see chapter 6, 'Technical data').
E These preparations must be carried out by a qualified person.
E The preparations must be carried out before you start using
the fresh water kit.
We recommend mounting the valve block on a wall (see diagram).
Precondition: The coffee machine is switched off.
T Remove and empty the water tank.
T Remove the black cover on the back of the water tank. Use
a screwdriver or other suitable tool. Lift the cover slightly
and remove by pulling backwards.
T Break off the black tab on the cover.
T Position the coffee machine on the edge of the table to give
access to the recess on the underside of the machine.
