CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Let all parts of the barbecue cool completely before cleaning them.
• The barbecue must be thoroughly cleaned regularly. If the barbecue is used in excessively
corrosive environments, such as by the sea, it is extra important that the barbecue is clea-
ned often. Salt and moisture usually break down the barbecue's protective outer surface,
which can lead to surface rust.
• When the barbecue is not in use, it should be protected from rain and contaminants under
a barbecue cover, this prevents contamination and surface rust.
• If the barbecue is stored outside during the rainy season, care should be taken to ensure
that water does not get into the pellet hopper. Wood pellets, when wet, expand greatly and
will jam your auger.
• For long-term storage, for example, in the winter, the barbecue must first be carefully
cleaned, dried and then stored under a barbecue cover in a dry and dust-free environ-
ment.
CLEANING THE OUTSIDE OF THE BARBECUE
• Wipe the outside of the barbecue with a soft sponge, a mild soap and water. Rinse with
clean water and let it dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• If there is any scratches/damage on the lacquer, it must be treated immediately to make
sure it does not start to rust. Treat any scratches/damage on the lacquer by first rub away
any rust and removing any paint flakes with a wire brush. Then paint with rust protection
paint for metal in the relevant color. Always follow the instructions on the paint tin.
CLEANING THE INSIDE OF THE BARBECUE
• Always when finished cooking on your barbecue, turn the Temperature Dial to "HIGH"
position. Let your barbecue run for 5 to 10 minutes to go through its normal cleaning
method. If you have been preparing meats that are extra greasy, it is a good practice to
allow the barbecue to burn for an extra 10 to 20 minutes. This will reduce the chances of
"Flare-Up" during next barbecue session.
• Make sure the barbecue is all cleaned from left over pellets. A tip is to use an ash vacuum
cleaner.
• Use a brush with hot water and detergent to remove excess residue. NEVER use a com-
mercial oven cleaner. Rinse completely with water. Towel dry and replace all components
as described in the assembly instructions.
CLEANING THE BARBECUE GRATES
• Do not use sharp objects to clean the barbecue grates, its surface can be damaged.
• It is not necessary to clean the barbecue grates after each use. Just remove the residue
with a brush and then dry with paper towels.
• However, the barbecue grates must occasionally be carefully cleaned. Use mild soap and
water. Rinse with clean water and let it dry.
• Before barbecuing, you can oil the cooking grate with cooking oil to prevent barbecue
residue from sticking.
