GEFAHR
Arbeiten an elektrischen Anlagen.
Hinweis

Energy storage device for
undervoltage/overvoltage relays
Intended use
The energy backup of the ES258 series is a supplementary device
for the undervoltage/overvoltage relay VMD258. It provides the
electronics of the connected VMD258 with the necessary energy,
to cover the duration of the maximum response time after power
supply failure.
Safety information
Installation, connection and commissioning of electrical equip-
ment shall only be carried out by qualified electricians:
Particular attention shall be paid to:
the current safety regulations and
the enclosed sheet "Important safety instructions for
Bender products".
Function
After commissioning of the undervoltage/overvoltage relay
VMD258, the capacitor of the ES258 is charged from the connect-
ed relay. If the supply voltage of the relay or the system being
monitored fails, the ES258 supplies the VMD258 with energy so
that the set response delay of the relay will be effective.
Installation and connection
Risk of electric shock!
Ensure safe isolation from supply in the in-
stallation area. Observe the installation rules
DANGER
for live working.
Notice
A voltage of up to 47 V may be present between
the terminals Z+ and Z-, even when the ES258 is
in a de-energised condition.
Do not short-circuit Z+ and Z-!
