Measurement

When you turn on the device, it is in heating mode by default. You can always return to normal
measuring mode by pressing the "Esc" key, no matter in which mode you are.
You can switch between heating and cooling mode by pressing the "Mode" button.
When you are in measuring mode, press "Up" to activate the display backlight.
After connecting the sensor and the power supply, press "ESC".
ATTENTION:
Point the IR sensor towards the surface which you want to measure. The thermometer
automatically compensates temperature deviation . Keep in mind that the sensor might have to
cool down after measuring high temperatures. This can take up to 30 minutes. It might also take
a few minutes to measure high temperatures when you measured low temperatures before.
In order to find hot spots, move the sensor in an up and down motion while you are scanning
the area.
Measuring spot
Make sure that the target is larger than the measuring spot. The smaller the target, the closer
the thermometer should be to it. If the accuracy has to be high, the target should at least be
twice as big as the measuring spot. The following graphic shows the relation between distance
and spot size.
If the distance (D) gets larger, the spot size (S) gets larger, too.
