5. Device connection
This is how to mitigate the risk of static sparks, fires or explosions, which can lead to serious injuries and damage to
property: earth the spraying device and the system components, as well as the objects in the spraying area, in line with
the safety instructions given in the present manual.
Pay attention to sufficient electrical current and that the socket is correctly earthed.
If you use a generator to generate the power, this must be at least a 7000 watt generator with voltage control.
Connect the hose and gun.
1.
Remove the plastic cap from the thread and screw a conductive or grounded 210 bar spraying hose onto the mate-
rial outlet.
2. Connect an airless spray gun to the other end of the hose. Do not install a spraying nozzle.
NOTE
: Do not use thread seals or articulated joints as they are self-sealing.
Filling the packing nut / wet container
1.
Remove the nozzle guard and cap.
2. Fill 5 drops of piston oil into the packing nut/wet container.
Rinsing the spray device
1.
Flush the spraying system. Flushing is described on chapter 7.
Ventilation and flushing the material
Instructions:
The device was tested with light oil at the factory; this was left in the material passages to protect the parts. To avoid
contaminating the material to be sprayed with oil, you must flush the device with a compatible solvent before commis-
sioning.
Before you can start a new spraying job, you first need to ventilate the system and flush out the material left in the
spraying device.
CAUTION
: Never allow the device to run dry. If no material or water / solvent is pumped during cleaning,
immediately switch off the device. Check the cause (see chapter 11).
Solvent and water based materials
When moving from a water-based to a solvent-based material, you must first briefly flush the cleaned device with the
corresponding solvent.
After processing solvent-based materials, first flush the device with the corresponding solvent, then with soap and
detergent, then with water. Never leave solvent in the device.
If you are switching from a solvent-based to a water-based material, first flush with a suitable "gentle" solvent (e.g.
turpentine), then with water and detergent, and finally with clean water.
While flushing with solvent, earth the gun and the bucket.
The device must be thoroughly cleaned and flushed before changing paint, at the end of the working day, before sto-
rage and before starting maintenance work.
