5 Channel Thermo-Hygro Sensor
Item no. 67 21 48
Intended Use
The product is intended to be used as an outdoor sensor with a suitable radio weather station.
It transmits the temperature and air humidity via a radio link to the weather station.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating
instructions.
This product complies with the applicable National and European requirements. All names of

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not accept any liability for consequential
damage!
We do not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by improper handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The
warranty/guarantee will be invalid in such cases.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product are not allowed
for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the product
only emits relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction of life-
support systems. The same may also apply to other areas.
• The outdoor sensor is intended for assembly/installation in protected outdoor
areas. Do not operate the product in or under water.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. The product
contains small parts, glass (display) and batteries. Position the product so it is out
of the reach of children.
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly; since these mate-
rials can become dangerous playthings in the hands of children.
• Handle the product carefully; it can be damaged by impacts, blows or by falling
from a low height.
Notes on Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
The outdoor sensor can be used with rechargeable batteries.
However, due to the lower voltage of rechargeable batteries (rechargeable battery
= 1.2V, battery = 1.5V) and the lower capacity there is a shorter operating time, and
the radio range may be also reduced. Furthermore, at low temperatures (e.g. in
winter) rechargeable batteries are less efficient than normal batteries.
Therefore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries in order to
ensure long-lasting and reliable operation.
If you want to insert rechargeable batteries in the outdoor sensor, you should use
NiMH rechargeable batteries with low self-discharge.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct, when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by
children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries may cause acid burns when coming
into contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves.
• Ensure that the batteries are never short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into a fire. There
is a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion! Only
charge rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery
charger.
• If it is not to be used for a while (e.g. storage) remove the batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Old batteries/rechargeable batteries can leak and cause damage to the product; loss of
guarantee/warranty!
• Always exchange the whole set of batteries/rechargeable batteries, only use batteries/
rechargeable batteries of the same type, by the same manufacturer and in the same
charging state (do not mix charged batteries with half-charged or flat batteries/rechargeable
batteries).
• Never mix normal batteries with rechargeable batteries. Use either batteries or rechargeable

batteries.
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, please
read the chapter "Disposal".
Version 05/10
Controls
1 LC display for the display of temperature and air humidity
2 LED (flashes briefly during data transfer)
3 Battery compartment cover
4 Four screws for the battery compartment cover
5 Reset key
6 Hole for wall mounting
7 Switch for selection of transmission channel (channel 1 to 5)
8 Battery compartment for 2 batteries of type AA/mignon
Starting Up, Inserting Batteries, Replacing Batteries
• Open the battery compartment on the rear, by unscrewing the four screws (4) for the battery
compartment cover (3).
• The transmission channel can be set by using the sliding switch (7).
• Insert two batteries (or rechargeable batteries) of type AA/Mignon with the correct polarity
into the battery compartment (8) (observe positive/+ and negative/-). All display segments
appear briefly on the display, then the first measured value for the temperature and air
humidity will be displayed.
• Replace the battery compartment cover (3) and screw it in place again.
• Approx. every 43-47 seconds the outdoor sensor sends the measured values for tempera-
ture and air humidity to the weather station. The red LED (2) lights up briefly during each
transmission process.
• The batteries need changing if the contrast of the LC Display decreases or if there is no
longer an indication visible on the display.
The weather station may also display a battery symbol for the outdoor sensor. Please consult
the operating instructions for the weather station.
• The instruction manual for the weather station also contains information on how the
measurement data from more than one outdoor sensor for temperature/air humidity can be
displayed (for example: by repeatedly pressing the key "CH" or "CHANNEL" on the weather
station).
• If the weather station does not recognise the new outdoor sensor, perform a search on the
weather station for the available outdoor sensors (see the operating instructions for the
weather station). The search usually takes a few minutes.
In addition, check that the outdoor sensors are set to different transmission channels (e.g.
outdoor sensor 1 = transmission channel 1, outdoor sensor 2 = transmission channel 2, and
so on).
If the outdoor sensor, which was enclosed with your weather station, does not have an option
to set the transmission channel, the outdoor sensor is normally set permanently to channel
1. Adjust the outdoor sensor provided e.g. to channel 2.

Please consult the operating instructions for the weather station for how to use an
additional outdoor sensor.
If more than one sensor is used with a weather station, each sensor has to be set
to a different transmission channel!
If there is no display, check if the batteries or rechargeable batteries are charged
and that are inserted correctly. If necessary, briefly press the reset button that is
placed in a counter-sunk position with a toothpick (do not apply force while pressing)
or remove both of the batteries/rechargeable batteries, then wait a while and
reinsert them.
