6. Operation of autodark
The welding protection helmet is equipped with a fixed light – and dark shade.
The light shade is 3 and the dark shade is 11. For operation no adjustments are necessary.
7. Operation of autodark
The welding protection helmet is equipped with the following controls:
• Shade controller (1), for stepless adjustment of the darkening shade. Adjustable from shade
9 - 13. The light state is shade 4. Adapt the shade to the actual welding application
following table A, page 18.
= darker shade
= lighter shade
Caution: It can be harmful to use the welding protection helmet with a protection shade which
is too dark. This could cause the operater to get closer to the actual arc, and therefore
can breath in harmful welding smoke and gases.
When working outdoors or the operator is surrounded by strong natural light,
a darker shade (1 step) can be chosen.
• Delay controller (2), adjustable from 0.2 sec - 0.8 sec. With this controller the delay
between switching from dark to light state can be adjusted. The delay has to be adjusted to
different welding applications and personal needs of the operator.
