stituting the cause of the failures. Once the charging
has been com pleted, give 15 m inutes rest until the
next charging.
If the battery is recharged w hen it is w arm due to
battery use or exposure to sunlight, the pilot lam p
m ap light in green.
The battery w ill not be recharged. In such a case,
let the battery cool before charging.
When the pilot lam p flickers in red (at 0.2-second
intervals), check for and take out any foreign objects
in the charger's battery installation hole. If there are
no foreign objects, it is probable that the battery
or charger is m alfunctioning. Take it to your
authorized Service Center.

PRIOR TO OPERATION

1. Setting up and checking the w ork environment
Check if the w ork environm ent is suitable by
follow ing the precautions.

HOW TO USE

1. Confirm the clutch dial position (See Fig. 4)
The tightening torque of this unit can be adjusted
according to the clutch dial position, at w hich the
clutch dial is set.
(1) When using this unit as a screwdriver, line up the
one of the numbers " 1, 3, 5 ... 22" on the clutch dial,
or the dots, with the triangle mark on the outer body.
(2) When using this unit as a drill, align the clutch dial
drill m ark " " w ith the triangle m ark on the outer
body.
CAUTION
The clutch dial cannot be set betw een the num erals
" 1, 3, 5 ... 22" or the dots.
Do not use w ith the clutch dial num eral betw een
" 22" and the line at the m iddle of the drill m ark.
Doing so m ay cause dam age (See Fig. 5).
2. Tightening torque adjustment
(1) Tightening torque
Tightening torque should correspond in its intensity
to the screw diam eter. When too strong torque is
used, the screw head m ay be broken or be injured.
Be sure to adjust the clutch dial position according
to the screw diam eter.

(2) Tightening torque indication
The tightening torque differs depending on the type
of screw and the m aterial being tightened.
The unit indicates the tightening torque w ith the
num bers " 1, 3, 5 ... 22" on the clutch dial, and a
dots. The tightening toque at position " 1" is the
w eakest and the torque is strongest at the highest
num ber (See Fig. 4).
(3) Adjusting the tightening torque
Rotate the clutch dial and line up the num bers " 1,
3, 5 ... 22" on the clutch dial, or the dots, w ith the
triangle m ark on the outer body. Adjust the clutch
dial in the w eak or the strong torque direction
according to the torque you need.
CAUTION
The m otor rotation m ay be locked to cease w hile
the unit is used as drill. While operating the driver
drill, take care not to lock the m otor.
Too long ham m ering m ay cause the screw broken
due to excessive tightening.
3. Change rotation speed
Operate the shift knob to change the rotational
speed. M ove the shift knob in the direction of the
arrow (See Figs. 6 and 7).
When the shift knob is set to " LOW" , the drill
rotates at a low speed. When set to " HIGH" , the
drill rotates at a high speed.
CAUTION
When changing the rotational speed w ith the shift
knob, confirm that the sw itch is off.
Changing the speed w hile the m otor is rotating w ill
dam age the gears.
When setting the shift knob to " HIGH" (high speed)
and the position of the clutch dial is " 17" or " 22" ,
it m ay happen that the clutch does not engaged
and that the m otor is locked. In such a case, please
set the shift knob to " LOW" (low speed).
If the m otor is locked, im m ediately turn the pow er
off. If the m otor is locked for a w hile, the m otor
or battery m ay be burnt.
To extend the lifetim e, the lithium -ion battery equips
w ith the protection function to stop the output.
Therefore, if the tool is overloaded, the m otor m ay
stop. How ever, this is not the trouble but the result
of protection function. In this case, release the sw itch
of tool and elim inate the causes of overloading.
4. The scope and suggestions for uses
The usable scope for various types of w ork based
on the m echanical structure of this unit is show n
in Table 4.
