Connecting a Quattro Multi-room system
It is assumed that the Multi-room components are being installed in addition to a
functioning Quattro stereo system – the 'main system.
Ensure that the Quattro and other system components are disconnected from
mains power before connecting the receiver module and power amplifiers.
Connecting the Multi-room RF receiver
Using the Mini-DIN cable supplied (or a cable of extended length if the receiver
is to be located more than two metres from the main unit) connect socket 1 of
the Multi-room RF receiver f to the MULTI-ROOM COMMS LINK d socket at
the rear panel of the main Quattro unit
.
Connecting a second Multi-room RF receiver
If the range of the system is not adequate because of the construction of the
house or the distance from the remote zones to the Multi-room RF receiver, a
second Multi-room RF receiver may be added to the system.
To add a second receiver, connect socket 2 g of the existing Multi-room RF
receiver to socket 1 f of the new Multi-room RF receiver. The second receiver
may be located in a separate room of the house or on a different floor to
increase the remote control range.

Positioning the Remote Antenna
Position the antenna e straight out behind the unit, or facing vertically upward
or sideways. Keep the antenna (especially the tip) as far away from metal
surfaces and cables as possible.
Do NOT shorten or extend the antenna cable.
Connecting the power amplifiers
The power amplifiers for the additional Multi-Room zones connect directly to the
Multi-room sockets on the rear panel of the Quattro. Connect the amplifier
designated to drive the speakers in Zone 1 to the Zone 1 sockets a, similarly
connect further amplifiers to Zone 2 b and Zone 3 c sockets where they are
required (one, two or three zones may be configured).
Now connect the speaker cables from the speakers in the remote zones to the
appropriate power amplifier (Zone 1 speakers connect to the power amplifier
connected to the Quattro Zone 1 a output, etc.).
When the speaker cables are connected, connect mains power to the Quattro
and each additional power amplifier.
The power amplifiers may now be switched on.
