Synchronization by slave
The built-in slave 20 can trigger the power pack. Triggering is
then effected by an "incoming" flash, which was emitted by
another flashlight. This mode of operation is switched on
using push-button 7 until control LED "CELL" lights up. The
slave is an impulse photocell. It can only operate when the
triggering flash has a higher f-stop than the ambient light.
Please be aware that the ambient light that strikes the slave
may never be too strong. If this cannot be avoided, please
switch the slave off and release the flash by cable or radio
signal.
Synchronization via Strobe Wizard Plus
For radio flash triggering, the Hensel Strobe Wizard Plus
system, consisting of transmitter and receiver, is available as
accessory. The radio technology allows you to operate inde-
pendently from environmental factors, like ambient light, that
might interfere with the receiver. You can even trigger flashes
if your flash units are out of sight and over long distances
( > 40 m free visibility).
The radio transmitter is to be connected to the camera using
the provided synchronization cable or by attaching the trans-
mitter to the hot shoe, respectively. Make sure that the unit is
tightened carefully by the locking screw. The working channel
can be selected using the sliding switch. There are 3 working
channels available and the option "All".
The radio receiver is to be attached to the synchronization
socket 1 of the generator. The sliding switch of the receiver is
used for channel selection. There are 3 working channels
available.
Depending on the working channel selected the flash can be
triggered by pressing the 'TEST' button or releasing the
camera shutter. In case of choosing the 'All' option of the
transmitter, all flash units are triggered independently from the
working channels selected.
In any case, before starting up, the instruction manual for
Strobe Wizard Plus must be read carefully.
Synchronization by infrared triggering system
The Tria AS power pack has a built-in receiver 18. For flash
triggering, a compatible commercially available IR transmitter
can also be used.
