C) MIDI connection

This keyboard includes the MIDI feature. (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) MIDI is the universal standard for
sending and receiving performance data between electronic musical instruments or computer.
The computer needs to have a sound card with MIDI/Joystick port and with audio interfacing software
installed.
Turn off both the computer and the keyboard.
Connect the keyboard "MIDI OUT" jack to "MIDI/joystick" port via MIDI plug to 15-pin serial plug cable.

MIDI Channel setting
Press "FUNCTION" button until "CH" is displayed. The next two digits are the current MIDI channel value. The
default value is channel 00.
Press "+" or "–" to select the MIDI out channel from 01 to 16.
An all-note-off message will be sent out whenever there is a Transpose, a midi channel change or when a demo
starts.
No information of Auto Style, Pre-recorded songs, Sustain and Transpose will be sent as MIDI data.
For stable connection, please use power adapter when connecting to computer.

5. Operation

A) Playing the keyboard

1.
Turn on the keyboard with the "ON/OFF" switch. All settings are restored to factory default when the power
is turned on.
2.
Press "Master vol. "or "Master vol. " to adjust the master volume. Minimise the volume before operate
the keyboard.
3.
Press "Acc vol. "or "Acc vol. " to adjust the auto accompaniment volume.
4.
Press the "Tempo "or "Tempo " to adjust the tempo from 40 to 240 quarter-note beats per minute.
5.
Press "Sustain" button to activate sustain function. The function allows the player to produce a natural
sustain, which prolong the note's resonance.
The numbers in the beat display flash in time with the rhythm of song or style.

B) Playing demonstration song

1.
Press the "DEMO" button.
2.
Input the song number with the number pad. The input must be 2 digits, e.g. for demo song 4, input is 04.
Please refer to "Appendix III" for song list.
3.
The playback will start automatically once a song is selected.
4.
Press "+" or "-" button to play the previous or the next demo song.
5.
After the song is finished, the next song will be played according to the song number sequence.
6.
Press "play/stop" or "DEMO" button to stop the playback.
