11. Putting into Operation and Use

Start operating the device only after you have familiarized yourself with the functions and this
operating manual. Check again that all connections are correct. Do not put the product into
operation if it is damaged.
The PA system should always be the last to be turned on and the first to be turned off. In this
way you prevent any undesired noises (which can typically occur when switching off a mixer)
from damaging the PA system.
Make sure that the connected devices are not overloaded. The playback should not be distorted
under any circumstances. If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume was not
set too high, switch off the PA system immediately and check the connection. If you can find
no errors in the connection, please contact a specialist.
The device may only be operated by persons familiar with the operating instructions. Keep
other persons and children away from the device.
Turn the controls MAIN LEVEL (1) and SUB LEVEL (3) down completely (to the left).
Switch on the connected mixer and start the playback. Set to a medium volume on the mixer.
Turn the PA system on with the POWER switch (7).
Adjust the volume on the mixer to about 75% of the maximum volume or to the maximum undistorted level (visible
on devices with recording level displays and the "0 dB" marking).
Now adjust the subwoofer volume using the SUB LEVEL control unit (3) and the total volume of the PA system
using the MAIN LEVEL control unit (1) to the maximum required volume.
This setting enables a high signal-to-noise ratio and provides the best audio quality.
Make sure not to overload the PA system. Excess volume may damage the system. The subwoofer should
complement the satellite loudspeakers in the deep bass range. It should not drone.
After this basic setting, the volume is set using only the volume control on the mixer. The set-up procedure needs
to be repeated with every change to the circuit.
Switch the SUB PHASE (2) switch as a test. Depending on the set-up location of the satellite loudspeakers, the
phase reversal of the subwoofer, which can be achieved using this switch, may improve the bass response. The
position leading to a cleaner and louder bass is the right one.
To switch the system off, first switch off the PA system with the POWER switch (7) and then switch off the mixer.
