certain circumstances. Irreparable PowerForce lifting straps must
not be used and must be disposed of immediately.
– Visually inspect for contamination: Clean dirty PowerForce lifting
straps (see Cleaning, 5.1.).
– Dry damp or wet PowerForce lifting straps at room temperature in a
ventilated room before use (see 5.1 Cleaning).
– If necessary, check the combination with loose fittings (e.g. shack-
les) for compliance with national and harmonised health and safety
requirements.
4.4 Use
4.4.1 Selection of suitable PowerForce lifting straps
The selection is based on the following criteria:
– Load weight: Weight must be determined.
– Centre of gravity of the load: Take the centre of gravity from the
construction documents or calculate it.
– In case you are not aware of the centre of gravity position, carry out
a test lift.
– Length and tilt angle: Determine this by positioning the crane hook
vertically above the centre of gravity for the load.
– Use a traverse, if PowerForce lifting straps are to be used in pairs.
This distributes the load evenly over the legs
– Determine slinging type
– The slinging type influences the nominal load-bearing capacity.
Change in load capacity is represented by mode factor (M). The
nominal load capacity for the slinging method "straight pull" is
given. The load-bearing factors (M) for the remaining slinging types
can be found in these instructions
things.
– Take into account the geometry (symmetry) and surface condition of
the load.
