Inspection | Maintenance
It is required to carry out a regular inspection and
maintenance on Backflow preventers BA.
Maintenance contracts between the operator
of the drinking installation and the installer are
therefore advisable.
The correct function of the valve must be checked
frequently according to national and regional
regulations.
An inspection on the valve of the Backflow
preventer BA must be carried out every six month
and a routine maintenance every year.
The specifications of DIN EN 806-5 in the current
version apply to the inspection and maintenance.
Use KEMPER accessories and spare parts for ope-
ration test and maintenance (see page 26).
All necessary parts are listed there.

The functional and maintenance measures cover
the function test, visual inspection of the interior
parts and the cleaning or replacement of the
functioning parts.
This inspection should also include the related
valves. Only authorised specialists are allowed to
perform maintenance. Document the inspection
on the attached control plate with date and sig-
nature. Put the Backflow preventer BA cartridge
through a visual inspection in the installed state
during every maintenance to the extent this is
possible through the housing opening. The manu-
facturer recommends replacing the cartridge every
10 years. Local regulations must be observed.
