11 – Eliminating faults
The gun doesn't spray:
Only air exits the gun, no paint is drawn
from the container. Remedy: Clean the air
opening. (See Cleaning instructions.)
The paint runs on the surface:
The paint may be too thin (check the
viscosity) or you may be holding the
spray gun too close to the surface. It is
also possible that the gun is being
moved too slowly. Adjust the spray
angle and distance.
The paint is too thin or dries too
quickly:
The paint quantity regulator must be
adjusted or the gun must be held closer
to the surface. Moving the spray gun
slower may also help.
Streaks or uneven finish:
The overlapping technique has not been
implemented correctly during spraying.
Horizontal movements at the end of the
work may help.
Paint splatter and mixing of paint
sweeps:
The paint must be thinned (check the
viscosity). You should also check to see
whether the needle and nozzle are dirty
and whether paint has dried on. Clean
all parts carefully. We also recommend
cleaning the air opening. Sieve the paint
through a nylon stocking if you find
lumps or dirt particles in the paint.
"Wobbly", uneven spray jet:
Check all of the points listed above, in
particular, the air opening.
Paint leaks at the lid of the paint
container:
Check the seal in the lid. In the event of
wear, replace the seal.
