It may be the case that in winter (except for southern Europe) there are not enough hours of
sunshine to fully charge the rechargeable battery.
3. Regularly remove any deposits and dirt from the solar panel
This includes removing cut grass, dust (specifi cally along gravel paths), leaves and snow, since
these can reduce the performance of the module for recharging the rechargeable battery.
Only check the rechargeable battery indicator in solar operation at dawn (without sunlight).
Safety instructions for cleaning solar modules
- Check the electrical connections before cleaning. Defective connections can cause short circuits.
- The modules should be cleaned before they reach working temperature, i.e. early in the
morning. In addition they should only be cleaned with water at ambient temperature in order to
avoid thermal stresses.
- Do not clean the modules if they are too hot and/or exposed to strong sunlight. The shock of cold
water on a hot module can damage solar cells.

Cleaning instructions

- Make sure that the water used is free of particles and foreign bodies that could damage the
module surface.
- Ensure that the glass surface is not scratched or damaged or that any foreign bodies are applied to it.
- The use of pressure or steam cleaners, acetone, high-pressure cleaners, knives, blades and
metal-containing sponges is not permitted for modules and will invalidate the manufacturer's
warranty.
- Avoid exerting pressure on the module surface when drying.
WARNING:
Do not leave the switched off pasture fencer in the sun with a rechargeable battery and
a solar panel for a longer period. Why?
This could damage the rechargeable battery.
