2. General

The FAZ 3000-TF door/window is a versatile component of the FAZ 3000 system. It
has the following functions:
· Monitoring of doors and windows via the magnet provided (can be mounted on
both sides of the transmitter)
· Monitoring of objects that must be protected against unauthorised removal (paint-
ings, art objects, etc.).
· Connection possibilities for additional external magnetic sensors (Normally Closed
= NC)
· Connection possibilities for glass breakage transmitters (Normally Open = NO)
· Sabotage contact

3. Installation

3.1 Instructions for installation

· As the FAZ 3000-TF is equipped internally with magnetic sensors (one on the left
and one on the right side) installation of the magnets can be either on the left or
on the right. Installation of the magnets on both sides, i.e. a magnet on both the
left and right side is not possible.
· Note: The internal magnet contact is not interrogated in normal operation. Only
on first closure, when the magnet makes contact, is it actively switched and inter-
rogated from then on. Deactivation is only possible on re-starting of the door/
window transmitter, i.e. battery change or delete and re-register sensor.
· At the same time several external magnetic sensors (Normally Closed = NC) can
be connected, which must then be switched in series by external wiring.
· In addition external glass breakage sensors can be connected (electronic, zero
potential, current free switch output, Normally Open = NO). These must be switched
in parallel via external wiring.
· Note: Like sabotage contacts glass breakage sensors are factory set to be al-
ways active, independently of „disarm", „intern arm" and „extern arm".
· When installing ensure that the FAZ 3000-TF and the magnet are not mounted
directly on metal objects, as they reduce the maximum distance between sensor
and magnet as well as the radio range.
· In addition the sensor should not be placed
directly adjacent to electrical devices or large
metal objects (heating, aluminium laminated
walls, etc.)
· Normally the magnet is attached to the mov-
ing part and the FAZ 3000-TF to the fixed part
(window frame, door frame, wall).
· The installation height of the magnets with re-
spect to the lower edge of the FAZ 3000-TF
should be 20 mm (Figure 1). Then an optimal
magnet range is obtained. For higher or lower
installation please note the reduction in mag-
net range.
