B. Before first use:
First familiarize yourself with the device and its compo-
nents. Read these operating instructions carefully
and completely. Also refer to the illustrations (see
note A). Before you switch on the device for the
first time, you must remove the transport lock from
the I/0 switch (8) on the cover of the handle (3). To do
this, carefully pull off the adhesive tape and remove the
small grey plastic part.
Caution: Keep the transport lock in a safe place,
as this must be reused for transport transport (see
special instructions on the battery and transport).
Before using the device for the first time, it must be
fully charged.
See note C.
C. Loading the NOCH Gras-Master 4.0 PROFI
In order to ensure proper function for the desired result,
it is necessary to charge the battery according to the
display. On the cover of the handle (3) you will find an
LED status display (10) with two LEDs. After switching
on the device using the I/0 switch (8), the display
shows the status of the battery:
LED 1 lights up green:
Battery charged, device is ready for operation
LED 1 green and LED 2 orange:
Battery level low, device must be charged
LED 1 lights up red:
Device is charging (cannot be operated during the
charging process).
To charge the battery, the device must be switched off.
To do this, move the I/0 switch (8) to the '0' position.
Plug the USB-A connection of the charging cable
(11) into a suitable mains adapter (see note D). Then
plug the USB-C connection into the charging socket (9)
on the handle cover (3). Now plug the mains adapter
into the socket and the charging process begins. The
LED status display (10) lights up red.The device cannot
be used during the charging process. Never switch the
device on during the charging process.
As soon as the battery is fully charged, the
the LED status display (10) changes from red to
green.
Unplug the mains adapter from the socket and then the
charging cable (11) from the device.
Note: Depending on the previous residual charge of
the battery and the mains adapter used, the charging
process may take up to ten hours.
Note: Batteries lose capacity in the course of their
life. It is therefore normal that the device has a shorter
runtime over time. As for the grass application of
model landscapes in the hobby sector, it is unlikely
that the device will be used continuously for several
hours. Therefore, this reduction is negligible due to the
generously dimensioned battery runtime on delivery.
To keep your battery in the best possible condition, it is
advisable to use it regularly until the message 'Battery
low' message and then charge it fully. Storage over a
longer period of time should not be carried out with a
low battery. Before you use the device again after a
long period of storage, fully charge the battery. Avoid
deep discharge.
Important: Also observe the special safety
safety instructions for the battery, in particular
temperature and relative humidity above.
D. Suitable power supply units:
Basically, all commercially available USB power supply
units are suitable for charging the NOCH Gras-Master
4.0. Make sure that you only use high-quality power
supply units from reputable manufacturers that are
approved and market-compliant in your region (within
the EU, for example, look for the CE mark). The power
supply unit or power supply may only provide a maxi-
mum output voltage of 5 V. We recommend the 'IQOS
3 power supply unit' with 140 W, 5 V. You can also use
power supply units from your mobile phone, e.g. from
Apple®, SAMSUNG® etc.
Attention: We cannot accept any liability for the use of
the power supply units and any damage resulting from
their use. Please be sure to observethe instructions of
the respective manufacturer.
E. Filling, attaching and changing the
Flock Change Container (4) with grass fibres
Before you can start applying grass to the landsca-
pe, grass fibres must be filled into the Flock Change
Container (4).
Caution: Avoid the risk of electric shock!
Switch off the device (I/0 switch (8) to the 0 positi-
on) before filling, removing and changing the Flock
Change Container the grass fibres. Always remove
the Flock Change Container (4) from the handle (1)
before unscrewing the sieve.
Filling and attaching: Unscrew the sieve (6)
or the lid from the Flock Change Container (4).
Fill the container to a maximum of halfway with flock
material. Then screw the appropriate sieve (6) onto the
container (4). The fine sieve is suitable for grass fibres
from 1 mm to 2.5 mm in length, the medium sieve is
suitable for fibres between 4 mm to 6 mm in length,
the coarse sieve is suitable for fibres from 9 mm in
length. Then put the prepared Flock Change Container
onto the handle (1). Make sure that the spike at the
back of the container part fits exactly into the opening
at the bottom of the handle (2). Now turn the container
slightly until the ball of the bayonet catch (7) engages in
