Specifications and Preparations Before Use
How to select the right type of Absolute Sleeve or Liner is to look at the shape of the
stump and thigh. But also, being aware of prominent bones or other sensitive areas
on the stump/leg. Choose the appropriate size to fit the user, and do not forget that it
is thermoformable, Absolute Sleeve and Liner can be custom adapted to the precise
body shape of each individual patient . For casts with severe concave areas, e .g . "pear
shaped" limbs, you might have to vacuum form the liner or order a custom made liner
according to your specifications.
Thermoforming Liner
Preparation - Use a dry positive cast without sharp edges . Don a sock on to the cast
in order to get an air channel and prevent "airlock" that can damage the gel in the
Absolute Liner .
1 . Don the Absolute Liner on the room temperature cast
2. Put the oven temperature to 80°C . Avoid bumping the liner against the oven walls as
this can damage the gel .
3 . After 50 minutes take out the cast with the liner on and leave it to cool down at
room temperature .
DO NOT cool down the liner under cold water as this can damage the gel .
Disposal/waste handling
The product must be disposed of in accordance with applicable local laws and
regulations . If the product has been exposed to bacteria or other infectious agents,
it must be disposed of in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for the
handling of contaminated material .
