HOW TO OPERATE THE UNIT
CL lasers are precise measuring instruments, which require care and attention during
work (a wind blast or fall may affect correct operation). If you notice incorrect
measurements, please contact the Nivel System service.
Lasers generate a highly focused light beam - avoid direct eye contact.
Always carry the equipment with the compensator locked with the power supply
turned off. The laser has an magnetic compensator. It is not allowed to carry and
transport it with the power supply turned on (unlocked compensator), as this may cause
recalibration of the equipment.
The effect of uneven beam brightness: the laser beam generated by the laser diode
has an oval cross-section, passing through a 360° prism with a perfectly round cross-
section. As a result the brightness of the generated beam may appear higher in one
axis whereas slightly lower in the other. It is a natural effect and does not indicate
a hardware defect.
Ingress Protection code - IP54 stands for:
- limited protection against dust. NOTE: the unit is not fully dustproof. Do not work
or leave it in heavily dusty rooms.
- protection against splashing water in any direction. NOTE: the unit is not protected
against water jets or immersion.
Keypad:
On/Off
The laser has an ON/OFF switch and two operation keys (on the Keypad), 2 buttons
and 2 information diodes at MENU Keypad.
ON/OFF Switch: When ON, the pendulum of the laser compensator is unlocked- the
lines are projected and the laser is in the auto-leveling mode. When OFF, the pendulum
is locked- no line is projected.
Keypad
LASER button – switches laser beams in the following sequence: - H (after switching
ON, the laser will display a horizontal plane) – V1 (vertical plane) – V1+V2 (two vertical
planes) – V1 + V2 + H (two vertical planes and the horizontal plane)
PULSE mode key – turns on/off the laser sensor mode (required frequency 10 kHz).
When working in this mode, the diode by the button is on, the laser beam has a slightly
lower brightness.
