START UP THE DEVICE
To start the appliance, move the button 1 (Fig. 11) to release the switch lock and pull the
switch 2 (Fig. 11) to the main handle. The button 1 (Fig. 11) can now be released.
To switch off the appliance, release the on/off button.
CHAIN BRAKE
The safety brake is designed to stop the chain of the saw immediately when the guide is
released. The brake is automatically applied by inertia.
Before each use, check the safety brake by moving the lever forward. Check that the chain
does not turn when you switch on the appliance. If so, the safety brake is working. After the
check, pull the brake lever toward the secondary handle until you hear a click.
CUT
Read the chapter "Safety precautions" before starting work. It is recommended to practice
cutting on easy logs first, which will also help you get used to using the device.
Do not apply much force to make the cut, apply light pressure when the engine reaches its
maximum speed.
When the saw is stuck in the material being cut, do not try to pull it out by force, but use a
wedge or lever.
PROTECTION AGAINST RECOIL
Check the chain brake operation before each use by switching on the saw and moving the
safety brake forward after 1-2 seconds at maximum engine speed. The chain should stop
immediately when the engine is running at full speed. If the chain stops too slowly or does
not stop at all, replace the brake band and clutch drum before using the saw.
It is extremely important that the brake is checked for proper operation before each use and
that the chain is sharp in order to maintain the proper level of protection against the saw
from jumping off. Removing protective devices, improper maintenance, or replacing a guide
or chain with the wrong equivalent can increase the risk or cause serious injury. Typical cases
are illustrated in Fig. 12.
CUTTING TECHNIQUES (FOR ALL TYPES OF CHAINSAWS)
CUTTING DOWN THE TREE
Before cutting a tree:
Determine the direction of the cut, taking into account wind, slope of the tree, location of
heavy branches, ease of work after cutting and other factors (Fig. 13).
Clearing the area around the tree to arrange a good escape route.
Cut to one third of the depth of the tree (Fig. 14) on the side of the tree on which the tree
is to be placed.
Make a cut on the opposite side of the cut, slightly higher than the cut.
