B: Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization
Treatments in Clinical - Hospital Areas
PREPARATION
Parts which can be cleaned, disinfected and sterilized:
D1 – D6 (without rubber band) and E1 – E6.
CLEANING THE DEVICE AND THE TUBING OUTSIDE
Gently pass the "Clinell - Universal Sanitizing Wipes" on the
external surfaces of the appliance and the tube.
Alternatively, use only a cloth dampened with antibacterial
detergent (non-abrasive and free of solvents of any kind).
ACCESSORIES
Open the nebulizer by turning the upper part (Pic. E1) counter
clockwise. Pour away any remaining medication. Disconnect
the nozzle from the top of the nebulizer (Pic. E1, E3). Remove
the mouthpiece or mask or baby-angle from the nebulizer.
Rinse these parts under running water.

Neutralizing agent (if necessary)
b. Procedure
•
Place the nebulizer and the accessories on the cleaning
device tray so that they can be cleaned in the most
effective way
•
Select a suitable cleaning program and agent,
ref. to Validation paragraph.
c. Validation
•
Miele PG8582 cleaner & disinfector device, program VARIO TD
•
Standard baskets made by Miele (E486 basket recommended)
•
Neodisher Mediclean forte 0.5% and Neodisher Z for neutra-
lization (from Dr. Weigert)
