Commissioning

Before commissioning the unit, check that the operating details specified on the
type plate are being met.
The unit must not be taken into operation until all required protection devices are
installed and connected. Intake and exhaust openings must be connected to
ensure that protection against accidental contact is in place.
In accordance with DIN 1886, the equipment should only be opened with tools.
Wait for the fan to stop completely, before opening the inspection doors. The
negative pressure inside the unit could suck in loose items when the doors are
opened, which in turn could destroy the fan or even present a potentially fatal
hazard if loose items of clothing are sucked in.
The doors should be securely closed using the correct tool before commissioning
takes place (this ensures that the equipment is properly sealed).
- Commissioning must not start until the ducts have been connected and the
inspection doors have been closed. Otherwise there is a risk that the motor could
be overloaded.
- Switch on the main switch.
- Check the direction of rotation of the fan impeller by briefly switching on the drive
motor. Change the direction of rotation if required.
The door of the fan section needs to be open for these steps - proceed with great
care! Otherwise loose items could be sucked in, which in turn could destroy the
fan or even present a potentially fatal hazard if loose items of clothing are sucked
in (e.g. a tie).

- Perform a mass air flow test. Check the pressure drop.
- Measure the current drawn by the fan motor:
The values for motor current and motor power must not exceed the

ratings indicated on the motor type plate (at 50 Hz). The indicated
maximum fan speed must never be exceeded, as the overloading could
otherwise destroy the motor and the fan, and components could work
themselves loose or become detached and fly around, destroying further
components in the process.
Check the highest current in the control range.
If necessary, alter the air volume by adapting the speed.
Check the shutter dampers and linkage for ease of movement.
Check that the drive motor(s) of the shutter(s) rotate in the correct direction - if
necessary change the rotation direction switch.
If the dampers are positioned internally refer to the enclosed separate installation
instructions for the damper actuator motor.
