The Rodecaster Video is supplied with its
operating voltage of 19-20V via USB-C. Only
plug this USB-C cable (red labeling) into the
connection provided for this purpose (at the
red power switch). Plugging it into one of the
other USB-C sockets under voltage can cause
DAMAGE to the Rodecaster Video
Place a soft cloth between the Rode-
caster and the installation slot to avoid
scratches on the cover plate!
Insert the Rodecaster into the installation
opening until the cables can be plugged
in without pulling.
Plug in the cables
Plug in the cables from left to right. All cables are labeled according to the assignment of
the Rodecaster sockets (Fig. 13)
- Left WLAN antenna cable - only tighten the screw connection by hand
- 2x combo cable plug
- 2x headphones 6.35 mm jack
- 2x speakers 6.35 mm jack
- 2x HDMI -Out
- 4x HDMI-In
- 5x USB-C
- Ethernet RJ45
- USB-19V (!) power connection for
Rodecaster Video - never plug into the
other USB sockets
- Right WLAN antenna cable - only
tighten the screw connection by hand
Before installing the Rodecaster, check again that all cables are correctly seated. Is a Micro
SD card inserted in the slot of the Rodecaster Video? If not, then this would be the right
time to do so.
Note: for technical reasons, we prefer to use the Micro SD card in the slot of the Rodecaster Video.
With the manufacturer's "RODE Central" software, the card can be easily recorded in the device via
a PC connected to one of the USB-C ports. However, if you would like to install an external reader
in the case, you will find the instructions in the chapter: "Installation slot for an external Micro SD
card reader" on page 18 of this manual

Operating instruction EN
The Rodecaster Video is inserted by swinging the back into the recess (Fig. 14).
Due to the large number of cables that
are inserted at the same time, it may be
necessary to insert them one by one,
twisting them slightly. Make sure that
the cables have enough space to find
their place under the cover without too
much back pressure.
Note: Work carefully and never force the
Rodecaster Video into the recess! If you feel
too much counter-pressure or the cover
plate deforms under the pressure of the ca-
bles, carefully remove the Rodecaster
Video and sort the cables again until it can be inserted into the recess without too much
counter-pressure. You may have to repeat this process several times until the Rodecaster is
seated without pressure.
The C-clamps must be fitted in the correct position (right/left). You will find a marking
on the underside. Place the two C-
clamps on the Rodecaster and screw
them together using a Phillips screw-
driver, size PH1, with the M3x12 mm
screws (8 pcs.), max. tightening torque
0.2 Nm (! only apply lightly) (Fig. 15)
Please watch our video on how to in-
stall the Rodecaster yourself on our
support website.
